Re: Is the .40 dead?

Personally, I don't like the .40 because the recoil in the guns I tried was worse than a .45. And the bullets are too easily confused with 9mm for me to keep both in my rotation. I don't like .40 because it throws me off sometimes when scrounging brass from the range. Ha! The 1 time a shootin...

Great read! Interesting though, that the first story details a crisp sight picture upon engagement.

Re: Front Sight Focus---Or Not...

I am not an "expert" but I trust the opinions of some of them... in Tom Givens' book Fighting Smarter , he details actual gunfight debrief interviews and facts from past students. It was 65 [62 wins-0 losses and 3 forfeits] at the time the book came out. All his students that had a gun wit...

Re: NRA National Meeting May 3-6 -- Anybody Worried?

Still waiting here too. The one thing that has me concerned - not worried - is the self-proclaimed pro-gun guys that plan to show up in anti-NRA t-shirts to protest the NRA leadership at the NRA event. In my view, this does not solve any grievances and only serves to strengthen the enemy. Thoughts?...

Re: My guns don't need to be pretty, they just need to work

No reason a rock solid, accurate and reliable gun can't be pretty... I often carry what I consider to be a very "pretty" STI... although it was already pretty, before it was proven! On the other hand, a reliable accurate gun is pretty in my eyes. So yes, even a PF9 can be pretty... i...

Ahh... hate to hear that! Hope things go smoothly (as much as possible in this situation). A lot depends on the brand, and maybe age...

And ironic timing to have 45 posts!

Re: Banks getting in on the action

I stopped doing business with B of A a long time ago when they wanted to charge a fee to visit with a human teller rather than the ATM. Hmm... they want to charge you for something that costs them money? Seems perfectly reasonable to me. Why should I have to pay for a service I don't use? It seems ...

More illegal gun buy backs...

Well, there is his first fail... the "illegal" guns dot get sold back to police by law abiding citizens... if he paid would be sellers in crack, he'd get more "illegal" guns.

Re: Is the .40 dead?

Denial won’t change the fact that .40 is dying. Police departments are leaving it in droves and there is a surplus of police trade ins in .40. My firearm distributors are putting new pistols in .40 S&W on clearance, that in itself is an indicator of a lack of demand. They are not taking a loss ...

He reminded me of a dishonest version of a person I knew that was "lightly" autistic. Forget the exact term... but very smart and just struggled socially.

Re: Today in Trump's new term as President

Big downside. Not sure what the upside is. The upside may just be the message - unlike the previous administration, this one will enforce the "line in the sand" and keep it's word when it says it will act. That alone should be helpful on the world stage, regardless of what was or wasn't h...

Re: Is the .40 dead?

40 is not dead. 10mm is now called the "Bang Bang" thingy. I never intended to reload or own a 40 Caliber pistol until I could not resist adopting this "feral pistol" https://photos.app.goo.gl/CIKxs89r0zj1VBua2 Love the gun, Beiruty! I never intended to own a .40 but ended up wi...
