Re: OK GOP. You win

TAM, I don't think the GOP proposal would have helped you or me much if any. And that's disappointing, isn't it? I mean, after running since 2010 on repealing it, and sucking up probably hundreds of millions of $$ in political donations to PACs and candidate election/re-election committees, spent t...

Re: Slow Connection Speed on Remote Computer

How many feet are there in a direct line from your router/modem/wifi to your wife's PC? The signal strength deteriorates over distance. This has been a chronic problem in my house, where the FiOS comes into the house on one side of the house, with a wifi router connected by Ethernet cable to the Fro...

Re: Applying for CHL with suspended license in MA

This is a very interesting question. I am not an attorney, so I won't venture to answer. But we have several attorneys on this forum, including the man who probably knows more about CHL/LTC law than anyone else in Texas - Charles Cotton, the forum's owner.

Can they not learn from the Nancy Pelosi playbook? By that, do you mean the "We have to pass it to find out what's in it" playbook? God no, I'd rather not have any more of that, thanks. No more "comprehensive" bills. No more passing them to find out what's in them. Republi...

Re: Now you can use Aguila Minishells in Mossberg 500s & 590s

I know this is an old post, but I recently came across the Aquila Mini shells and wanted to say that I have run them through my Mossberg 590A1 with no problems. I installed the Opsol adapter and shucked 40 or so mini shells through the shotgun before I went to the range. I racked it slow, fast, sid...

How to Think About Vladimir Putin - Imprimis

I subscribe to the Imprimis newsletter from Hillsdale College. This one came in the mail a couple of days ago, and it is very much worth reading because it gets at the heart of not just how we as Americans ought to view Putin, but also how we as Americans ought to relate to our own gov't, and whethe...

Read this: https://imprimis.hillsdale.edu/think-vladimir-putin/

It very clearly defines the conflict between progressivism and sovereignty.

Yes.

Wow.......I remember when it happened (we even had a thread going here about it as I recall), but I had no idea that it had had such an effect on him after it was all over.

Re: What would you do?

I have always told my students that if I come home and see someone walking out my front door with my TV, I'd hold the door for them (maybe some slight hyperbole). Stuff can be replaced. Don't get me wrong; I like stuff, but I don't own anything that I'd be willing to take a life over. The other sid...

Let's say he has a bag of your golf clubs in his hands. tex Pull the 9 iron out of the bag, wind up, and let him have it across the shins full force. If that doesn't work, grab a 4 wood and hit him in the crotch. If that doesn't work whack him across the bridge of the nose with your putter. I'm onl...

In this case, "the shoulder thing that goes up" was the employee's arm, with his hand at the end of it, aimed at Doofus's face. Good thing the employee had one, and not the thiefenstealer.
