Back in January, my pastor's brother lost his wife. She’d been ill for a little while, not a long time, and then her body just quit on her. Last month, my pastor and his brothers lost their mom. A week and a half ago, his other brother's wife died suddenly and unexpectedly. She’d been doing her favorite thing—feeding her horses—and they found her already expired, laying on the ground just inside the horse barn. Three mighty hammer blows on this precious family in just 6 months. One struggles to understand why. All three women were faithful believers, and are now with the One who loves them most; but that doesn’t change the fact that three godly men, paragons of our church and involved in leadership in one way or the other, are struggling to make it one day at a time, to understand where God is in all of this. It’s not that they don’t believe he’s there. It’s that they don’t know what else to lean on, other than the fact that, all the time, God is good, he is good all the time, and he loves them.

That is and should be sufficient. But when we hurt the most, it is sometimes hard to see that.

We had a great visit and no phone service!
Dr gave me a clear bill of Health I dropped 55 pounds since January 1st and my BP down to 121 over 78.

Good work, man ... although under terrible circumstances. I’ve lost 41 lbs since mid-January, but with Weight Watchers, instead of with stress.

55 “O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”

That is where I seek my consolation when someone I love is near the end or has passed, and I knew that person to be a follower of Jesus Christ. Still, I am grieving for you brother, and what you and your precious wife must endure for the next couple of days.

Deltaboy, how about your own health? The last time you had posted, you were too sick yourself to go to the hospital with your wife. Are you doing any better?

It’s been long enough since his last post, that I just sent deltaboy an email to let him know that we are all still praying for them both.

Deltaboy, we haven’t heard any updates from you, and I fear the worst. Are you OK? Is your wife any better? I am still praying for you.

I still too sick to go over there so my Daughter been sitting with her!

Deltaboy, is there any news on either your wife’s or your conditions? I’m praying that you continue to have the strength to endure.

Brother, I am so, so sorry. But your dear wife will soon know her new heavenly body and eternal life. She will be healed and perfected in every way...no more pain or suffering. We will continue to keep you in our prayers.

This breaks my heart, but brother, I understand. We will continue to hold you both in our prayers, and I also pray that, if it is God’s plan to call her home to glory, her last days will be pain free, and surround by those who love her. She is already surrounded by The One Who Loves Her Most of All. May she finish well. I am grieving for you brother.

Oh man, I’m heartsick for you. I surely wish things were different. I will be praying that you and your dear wife are able to make the most of the time you have left together, that you will both have peace in this trial, and that she will take comfort in knowing that this life is not the end of things for those of us who call Him Abba Father.
