Re: Campus carry would cost Texas colleges millions

I wrote an article on the bogus $47 million cost estimate. It will appear on TexasFirearmsCoalition.com tomorrow morning.

I'll also post it on Facebook and it would help get the word out if our Members would share the post on their Facebook pages. I set these article to "public" rather than "friends" to increase readership.

It might be the same story....but the same "group" said that allowing CC will also allow assailants to bring weapons on campus.....

....think about that for a moment..... :headscratch

My respect for him continues to go out the window. :mad5

*edit* I can't read the full article so my question is genuine. Is it coming from UT or is someone else spouting this lie?
I haven't seen McRaven touting his military service as some sort of special qualification to serve as Chancellor, but those opposed to campus-carry certainly do so on a regular basis. His experience as a Seal certainly makes him an expert on killing people and blowing stuff up, but it doesn't even make him a good candidate to be a street COP, much less an expert on student safety.

Exactly right. It's perfectly legal to carry handguns all over campus now (excluding buildings), so there would be no reason to install any new security equipment or personnel. Schools don't have metal detectors at entrances to buildings now and it is not legal to carry into buildings. If there is no need for them now, why would a school need them when it's legal to carry in buildings?

It's a blatant lie.
