Re: Did we get shut out this year

guys, I literally heard one of the leges say that the reason some bill that was suppose to be for psych services for kids didn't get passed was because they reduced the fee for CHLs and that reduced the budget by MILLIONS of dollars! seriously, that's what he said! Now, 1. you'd have a hard time co...

Re: Loaded chamber in posted 30.07 locations legal?

I must think that you do not have a TLC by the question asked. By your screen name I would say you were from Alaska. No matter where you are from or what state your license is from as long as it has reciprocity in Texas you can carry, but all laws in the state of Texas apply, even if they differ in...

Re: Lowe's Military Discount

Previously only active duty (and possibly retired) got the discount 365 days. Other veterans got the discount 4 times a year (military related holidays). They expanded the program to all honorably discharged veterans. To simplify matters they want you to register so you don't have to carry your DD21...

Re: HB 3784

So they get online instruction from some big business website and come to us for 1 hour of shooting. Sorry, only going to profit gun ranges there. If anyone could make the online training, cool. But having requirements for previous online training experience shuts out almost everyone. In response t...

Re: Year End Instructor Recertification?

I don't have a range but was thinking of setting something up at Bexar Community or Bracken for those in the San Antonio area if there's any interest.

Unless someone knows of one already happening then please let me know,

Re: OR: Man fined for doing math without a license

In Texas, if your job title includes the word "engineer", you must have an engineering degree or your company will run afoul of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers. I'm not surprised at Oregon, but it is not necessary in all engineering disciplines to be licensed by the state. Wha...

Re: SB 16 - priority bill, reduction of LTC fees

So do seniors pay the $40.00 or the $5.00 as listed here? SECTION 6. Section 411.195, Government Code, is amended to read as follows: Sec. 411.195. REDUCTION OF CERTAIN FEES FOR SENIOR CITIZENS. Notwithstanding any other provision of this subchapter, if an applicant for the license is 60 years of a...

Re: Gander Mountain Going Out of Business - Closing All 126 Stores

“Camping World’s plan is to immediately right size the inventory and operate only in retail locations with occupancy costs that we believe support profitable operations, with an extreme focus on corporate overhead and expenses, consistent with our other operating segments,” said Brent Moody, chief o...

I DO know based on TSA federal law that the passenger and the passenger alone must retain the key/combo for the approved locked container and possession of said container and not allow anyone else the ability to open said box out of owners view. I have also read situations where passengers wer...

TulAmmo .357 158gr FMJ Steel Case

Anybody shooting this ammo? Went to the range today with my Rossi 971, which I've never had a problem with. Fired maybe 30 rounds of .38 then loaded up these rounds. Pulled the trigger, bang. Tried to pull the trigger and couldn't. Cylinder wouldn't turn. Couldn't get the cylinder out at first, then...

According to the Governor's signature page there's no action on SB16. Might be running behind.

Re: Dallas: NRA Annual Meetings/Exhibits, May 4-6, 2018.

There was an option on the 2017 meeting website to volunteer. I'm sure that as soon as the 2018 page is up that option will be there also.

Re: Dallas: NRA Annual Meetings/Exhibits, May 4-6, 2018.

I do not know if they still do this, but I volunteered to work when they were in Houston, and they appointed me as one of the firearms inspectors. Consequently, I had access to the show outside of regular hours. That is, no one was there except the people setting up their booths. It was a fantastic...
