Re: Las Vegas Mandalay Bay Active Shooter

......... My comment was in reference to how they, the government and investigators, know which guns he purchased and when they were purchased since there isn't supposed to be a registry or list maintained. The only way it to track them down one by one using the serial numbers and tracing them from...

Re: Drones Good or Bad

That is a hacked copy of the original video which was put out by autonomousweapons.org, a group that is advocating that autonomous lethal weapons be banned.

This is the original. The last minute is their statement.

Re: School teacher with LTC

No, the MPA has nothing to do with leaving your firearm in your vehicle in an employer parking lot. Labor Code Section 52.061 stops employers from preventing you from storing you firearm in you vehicle whether you have a LTC or not. Flightmare gave you the code for schools BUT under MPA you'd be in ...

Re: Thought to Ponder with a Few Idle Minutes

........ I do not know how effective that was compared to the M1, but I never heard of snipers/competition shooters adopting the M14. Marine designated marksman. Fills a niche between rifleman and sniper. The M14 is upgraded. Army uses a modified M16 IIRC. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_State...

Buy commercial if you want a shooter. Buy from the CMP if you want a piece of history. QFT. After researching it a bit, you can't even pay more for a good one... you get the next one in line regardless of whether it's a worn out or LNIB example. I believe the process will be the same as for rifles....

Re: Not your average dilemma

As OG is a dog park acquaintance I doubt I'm going to get the chance to actually do the inventory but he has my card and may actually talk to his friend about the need to do an inventory now. SigM4, that was exactly my concern about the full autos. I'm hoping for him that they were registered but I'...

Not your average dilemma

I was talking to an older gentleman (I'm 63 so think 80s) who I'll call OG. We get onto the subject of firearms and OG related to me a situation he may be facing. He has a friend in his late 60s whose mother is 90 something, and no kids evidently. They are both ill and not expected to last long. OG ...

Re: make sure you have a good first aid kit at home.....

Tried to cut my hand in half once with a power saw. Luckily, mostly missed. Before I'd heard of trauma bandages, if they were even around, but luckily had a bag of brand new rags handy.

Re: "Gun-Buster" Sign Legal?

I recommend people read this forum to learn the law and then get a license from another state because Texas DPS either doesn't know the law or they intentionally break the law. Either way, it's best to avoid their fudge cluster. Ok, I'll bite. How does having a license from another state solve the ...

Iver Johnson single shot 16 ga. In 1964 when I was 10. It was a used gun, probably already 20 years old. Still have it.

Re: "Gun-Buster" Sign Legal?

It will not do any good. DPS tells instructors that any 'no guns' sign is notification, legal or not, so they will not take action on an instructor teaching this. If this is accurate, it's very disappointing. It's even worse than an individual officer making up his own laws and interpretations. It ...

If they want to sue someone, they need to go after the Air Force, for failing to report the shooter's disqualifying background. :iagree: Lawyer in SA, name escapes me, advertises he's doing so and for those affected to contact him. Local big truck accident ambulance chaser Thomas J Henry was callin...

Re: Unlicensed Carry on Private Property

I don't know where it is stated in the law, but I was under the impression I can carry my handgun while hunting on someone's property with their permission. (b) Section 46.02 does not apply to a person who: (3) is engaging in lawful hunting, fishing, or other sporting activity on the immediate prem...
