Thanks, Steve and Jim, for the extremely important information. We can never be reminded enough about the different circumstances we may find our self in and what kind of force to use. I can understand how talking to the police before you have a lawyer could lead to serious problems for you.

Spouses and kids get up for all kinds of reasons in the middle of the night. Not identifying that the person was not supposed to be there and an actual threat is pure negligence and just plain stupid. :nono: I agree. I agree to the point that I am leaning towards charges should be filed against him...
