Re: Frivolous lawsuits are often very expensive

Consider that you are looking at some discovery cost, travel expenses, research, filing fees, ect. A summary judgment motion was denied IIRC. I think we just saw the first test run of anti-gunners efforts to use the courts to hurt the firearms industry. Here's what I think their plan actually is: 1...

Re: Frivolous lawsuits are often very expensive

I'm not a lawyer, but I just don't understand why it takes $200K in legal fees to raise and rule on the defense that was ultimately cited in the dismissal.

Wouldn't a summary judgment have been more appropriate for a case that fell squarely under the protections of the cited law?

^^^ that report is far more damning of the shooter than the previous versions. I am doubtful the marijuana baggies spilling are what had him driving erratically and certainly shouldn't have played into his "flaying about hysterically" trying to get out of the seatbelt. Still no justificat...

Re: IN: LEO helping rescue trapped victims in a car accident is murdered by one of the trapped men.

There is something missing in the reports. The civilian does NOT fit the mold for someone who would be shooting at an officer coming to help. That assumes that the very limited descriptions of the suspect are accurate. The "quiet" and "timid" labels may lack some credibility - s...

Re: Woman calls 911....Get shot

Is anyone aware of any sort of body camera that automatically enables at the sound of gunfire? You know, for just this sort of occasion. The cameras they had have a buffer of what happened 30 seconds before the camera is "enabled", as long as someone manually turns the camera on. Why not ...
