Re: Gun Law Question

A close friend of mine recently gave me a .22 rifle that belonged to her husband, who died in 2005. I made out a Bill of Sale, with both our names and addresses on it, and we both signed both copies, and I actually insisted on buying it for $100.00, which was on the Bill of Sale. If it's actually a ...

Re: Which press is right for me question asked for the 100th time

After trying a Lee shotshell reloader as a novice, I soon started reloading pistol cartridges with a single stage RCBS press, then several years later, set up a progressive Dillon with powder and primer feed. You do have to be careful, but I was close to having OCD back then. I loaded all the cartri...

Re: How to get rid of old ammo

An elderly friend of mine recently acquired an old S&W .38 Special Model 10-5, and had a plastic bag with some remanufactured ammo in it that looked really old (lead bullets darkened, brass not shiny). He couldn't remember where he got the cartridges, but probably bought them with the used gun a...

Re: another 30.06 question

I have the same frustrations. I live in an apartment community that bans me from entering the community room/leasing office by posting 30.06/30.07 signs, so I quit going to the luncheons, bingo games, exercise classes, and other numerous events held there for the tenants. I've lived in this apartmen...

Re: Shoulder Surgery Questions

UPDATE: About 2-1/2 weeks ago, I saw a local orthopedic surgeon in Tyler who specializes in shoulders and sports injuries, the same surgeon who treated my knee 8 years ago for a torn medial miniscus, which after 3 steroid injections in a 2-3 year time period, is completely functional now. I do not g...

Re: Carrying an empty holster

I got distracted one time at a hospital, where I went to have blood drawn in the lab, walked into the lab. When I remembered I was wearing an empty holster, I apologized to the female tech for the empty holster, and she said, "I don't care if you had a loaded gun in that holster, but the hospit...

Carrying an empty holster

Has anyone ever worn an empty holster inside of a premises with 30.06/30.07 signs? I've done it in my apartment's leasing office, which is signed 30.06/30.07, and no one noticed or said a word. If you've done this, what happened in your experience?

Re: Concealed Carry in Greater Tyler Apartments

I didn't think that common grounds in a living complex was enforceable Yes, it is enforceable, with the exception that Texas law allows people to carry handguns between apartments and cars as long as the handgun is out of sight. I am not a lawyer, but lawyers have clarified this multiple times. I'm...

Re: Concealed Carry in Greater Tyler Apartments

Legends of Lindale (55+ apartment community) at Lindale, the 30.06/30.07 signs are on the community room/leasing office, but they allow concealed and open carry in common areas, such as sidewalks, streets, pavilion; in Tyler, at Villas of Pine Ridge (a tax credit senior living complex) 8-foot chain ...

Concealed Carry in Greater Tyler Apartments

Is anyone aware of landlords at any multi-family housing or apartment complexes in the Greater Tyler area where any 30.06 signs are posted? I am aware of one in Lindale, one in Mineola, and one in Tyler, but all of these places are using the old invalid signs used prior to 2016. I'm just interested ...

Re: Shoulder Surgery Questions

The orthopedic surgeon I'm seeing in two weeks specializes in sports injuries and shoulders are his favorite thing. He also treated me ten years ago for a torn medial miniscus in my right knee after I fell. He wanted to clean out the torn pieces through laproscopy, but I declined that. After 3 stero...

Re: Shoulder Surgery Questions

I had rotator cuff surgery about 15 years ago in my non-dominant left shoulder. Back then, things were not as advanced as they are now and I got back about 70% range of motion. I was very diligent in my PT but was still somewhat disappointed. Fast forward about 6 years and I started having the same...

Shoulder Surgery Questions

I am a 73-year old man. I visited my primary care physician yesterday for shoulder problem in my dominant right arm. He diagnosed it as rotator cuff arthropathy, and I have an appointment in two weeks to see an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in shoulders. I have limited range of motion, such as ...

Re: Invited into a neighbor's home. Can I carry?

I still have relatives and friends where I used to live in Arkansas. There, it is the law that requires you to notify the residential tenant that you are carrying. It's been that way since they created the concealed carry law there. If my own brother refused to allow me in his house with a pistol, I...
