Re: CDC did not publish data supporting Gary Kleck’s DGU estimates

Wow. My thoughts exactly.... I cross posted this yesterday to a very left-learning forum I am on... So far no responses. NPR ran a story about DGUs last week, and a lot of gun control sites picked it up. This new Kleck paper makes a good counterpunch. Actually a one-two combination because it...

I wouldn't buy it, but I would visit Carlson1's church to see it after the service.

Re: (Another) CA professor making outrageous comments

I work as a tenured professor. I make 100K a year doing that. I will never be fired. I will always have people wanting to hear what I have to say,” she wrote on Twitter. What?! Well I think going off what Fresno State has to say she may be very wrong about that comment. We can only hope. There's ho...

Re: Can Beto O’Rourke really beat Ted Cruz?

https://www.texastribune.org/2018/04/18/new-poll-finds-race-between-ted-cruz-and-beto-orourke-too-close-call/ I’ve never heard of this guy until now, and all of a sudden, the Texas Tribune is saying that it’s too close to call? I don’t know much about him, but I went and checked O’Rourke’s website ...

Mine are rugged and reliable. I think they're beautiful, too.

Re: FBI: Most violent city in each State ranked

Without any data, I would guess Houston is Texas’ most violent city. But only because Juarez and N.L. are on the other side of the river.

I would love to see the fight over water that will follow the creation of those new states.

I avoid the issue by concealing under the dress shirt, in a belly band (variously positioned). It is accessible through an unopened button, which is conveniently covered by the tie.

So do I. If I am more discrete about it, do you think I will be more or less successful retaining my firearms than somebody who draws attention with bravado about armed resistance, secession, etc.?

Re: Secession?

Financially it would depend on a number of things. If Texas seceded peacefully, where we maintained good relations with the US, then we would not need a large standing army. As long as we minded our own business, we really just have to fear Mexico invading, which is pretty darn unlikely, IMHO. And ...

Re: If the 2nd Amendment is repealed poll

Well, if they come for my revolver collection, that would be a worst case scenario. Still, I reject the premise of the post. I wouldn’t turn them in, nor would I declare war. I would probably just wait and see.

Re: Secession?

Texas would be allowed to secede per the treaty that was signed. I don't know where you got that Texas retained the right to secede per the treaty. I do not believe that to be true. The only unusual thing granted was the ability to subdivide into more states, but not greater than 5, in order to gai...

Re: Secession?

And Texas grain, beef, cotton, etc., would continue to be exported, although farmers would have harder time financing crop production without federal farm programs. Overall, I would think the rural parts of the State would suffer more from having fewer economic development resources. And that’s why...
