Re: State Employee says no 30.06 needed???
I know a guy who recently took the CHL instructor class. He said the guys teaching the class were still teaching that it was a violation to carry in a place of worship. If the guys teaching the teachers are screwing that up then what to you expect from someone answering the phone or someone with the...

10 year CHL?
Saw a big sign yesterday at the Mesquite Rodeo Gun Show advertising a 10 year CHL class for $225.00. Didn't get a chance to check it out. Anybody know anything about it?

Re: Purchasing a Gun with a CHL
A CHL holder who is called into the NICS system can still get a "delay" response for many reasons - usually because they have the same name as someone else on the "deny" list. Which may be why they got a CHL in the first place, so they could avoid this. If your name is John Smit...

Re: Louisiana update
Yes there is contridiction in the law. I spoke with a friend in the Shreveport area that said his Leo buddies wouldn't issue a ticket or arrest any one carrying in a resteraunt. NO area might have a differant take. If you carry you do take some risk, weigh the scale and choose for yourself. I don't...

Re: Concealed handgun story from Missouri
Docs said I'd have bled out in 15-20 minutes if the artery was hit. It took 15 min just for the ambulance to get there. Time to add QuikClot to the wish list. No "sound" when I "click the safety" off on my glock. This is one of the primary reasons my 1911 stays at home in the sa...

Re: Louisiana update
I haven't disputed that there may be some leftover code that wasn't removed when CC was passed. i give you the list of prohibited locations from their handbook: Prohibited Locations R.S. 40:1379.3 (N) states that no concealed handgun may be carried into and no concealed handgun permit issued pursua...

Re: Louisiana update
You should have the previous section of code which they didn't post. Everything you quoted applies to carry in an ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE OUTLET. D. clearly states that a restaurant with majority of sales from food and non-alcoholic beverages is NOT an ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE OUTLET. RS 14:95.4 §95.4. Consen...

Re: Louisiana update
why would you not "sweat over the fact that Joe's serves alcohol"? Under current La law it is a violation to carry were alcohol is sold for onsite consumption. http://www.defensivecarry.com/vbulletin/concealed-carry-issues-discussions/95442-louisiana-no-carry-where-alcohol-served.html&quo...

Re: Louisiana update
We shopped in Shreveport/Bossier today. We went sight-seeing in Bass Pro, then ate lunch at Joe's Crab Shack. We never entered any of the Boardwalk shops or areas (both those businesses are technically "in" the Boardwalk), so I never passed their list of rules (which I've heard says no gu...

Re: Will you shoot?
I told them I'd just run away even if I have guns on me and am a good enough shooter to likely take out the BG from some cover. There is no need to risk my life. I voted yes. If the vic was your brother, sister, mother, father, spouse, son, or daughter and I happen to be the only one around who cou...

Re: $10,000.00 Gun won't fire if taken from user
How many real guns could I buy with $10K? 20 glocks or 10 Kimbers. Or maybe a gun safe full of ARs with ammo to burn. Shoot, I could buy a couple of full auto machine guns. Better yet I could buy one of every holster ever made for my CC and actually find the perfect holster for "my body type&qu...

Guilty as charged. I must be angry or displaying my own insecurities. At least that's what I am doing according to "Psychology Today".C-dub wrote:I don't know about everyone else, but I thought I detected some sarcasm in there. It's all good.

Re: State Employee says no 30.06 needed???
Does that range happen to be in city limits? There are laws against discharging a firearm in city limits. Shooting at a range in city limits could get you in front of a judge. I know that sounds silly but it is very much the same argument as a chlee being charged because of a gun buster sign. Oh bo...
