Re: Faith City Church Shooting, Amarillo

From the video it seems the church is 30.06/30.07 posted. I couldn't make out the actual letters but it looks like 06/07 signs. There is also another sign on the wall stating no firearms or weapons are allowed on the property. Another video shows a different door and there is a partially obscured 30...

Re: I want to keep my guns.

Is everyone here a 'cold dead hands' advocate ? Yes Jason, no wife or children ? No other passions or hobbies ? Travel? Anything ? Really - honestly willing to have a shoot out where the certain result is your death? Regardless of how many you'd take with you ? Would giving up all you had be too mu...

Re: Let's Really Protect Our Schools

locke_n_load wrote:So under the law now, for a teacher to carry in a school, they just need their LTC and permission from the school/district right? The school safety program is just an additional certification they can get if they or the school wanted or required them to have it, right?

That is correct.

Re: FL: Active shooter at high school in South Florida

Texas has a School Safety Course offered By Tex DPS since Last year. How many ISD's Have taken it ? A person who is emploed by an ISD may take the course and if and when they pass they may carry a Handgun on campus for the above purpose if the ISD approves them. There is a District in the area that...

Re: Becoming less impressed with TacticalGear.com

Now I was told it would ship today, that Bushnell had a three-day processing. So it took Tactical Gear two days to tell Bushnell to drop ship it. I have now been told it will arrive Wed. or Thurs. of next week. She also said they were going to take 15% off. We'll see. I will say she was much nicer a...

Re: Becoming less impressed with TacticalGear.com

An interesting twist. I was just refunded my shipping. No explanation. I might assume that they are refunding me my shipping for the hassle but I have yet to see my order shipped. Brokers? Never thought of it that way. I think I'll try to make a habit of calling any new companies I order from to see...

I went to the NRA website but I don't see anything about reduced lifetime fees. Is there a link?

Becoming less impressed with TacticalGear.com

I stumbled across TacticalGear.com a few months ago and just recently ordered some boots from them. The description indicated that it would take an extra day or two, on top of there normal day or two, to ship. Not a big problem. Ordered on 1/14(Sun), Shipped on 1/17 (three days), and delivered on 1/...

Re: Polecat in the Hen House - Night Vision Help

I appreciate the advice about how to either use a flashlight, shotgun, or trap but I already employee those methods with success. Just this morning I trapped the skunk and dispatched him. There have been several times that flashlights and traps don't work, work right now or for scanning without aler...

Polecat in the Hen House - Night Vision Help

Living out in the country with no close neighbors it is very dark. Last night was not the first time that I had an unwanted four-legged visitor around the homestead. It didn't help that the polecat was in the egg rollout when I opened it late last night to gather the eggs. Fortunately he didn't get ...

Re: Stop the Bleed

Hemostatic gauze (QuikClot) works where tourniquets do not and is easy to carry Our EMS doesn't carry hemostatic gauze on their trucks. I think they did at one time but they said plain gauze and transport works just as well. Use a TQ on the limbs, pack and compress joint/body junctions, transport t...

Re: Stop the Bleed

Caleb Causey from Lone Star Medics recommends either the SOFFT-W or the CAT. I believe both are given the green light by TCCC. I find the SOFFT-W easier to put on others, and the CAT easier to put on self. Just from practicing with them both. Yes, both are TCCC and have seen use and success in thea...
