Re: OK: Oklahoma restaurant shooter had license as armed guard; attack stopped by 2 armed men

I wonder why both of the men who confronted the shooter did not have their weapons on them at the time? Obviously they were ready willing and able to use them. Maybe the restaurant was posted and the good guys had stored their firearms in the trunk while they were eating. TITLE 21 § 1290.22 - BUSIN...

Re: Does Having An LTC Make You An Implied LEO?

Someone else's property, and probably most of my own, not likely. Saying that, I live out in the country. If I was driving by my neighbor's house or up to my own and saw someone hauling it off I'd be inclined to call the sheriff, set up a "perimeter", and encourage the offenders not to do anything s...

Re: The "Riot Mentality" of School Shootings

I recently came across this article and it made a lot of sense. In a nutshell, school shooters seem to be following the rioter mentality. The first degree is the guy that is just waiting for an excuse to throw a rock through a window. Second degree does it because the first guy did and then all the...

Re: Women’s Holster Recommendations

Not a woman but my wife is and she carries everyday. In the winter she wears an Undertech hoster shirt. Now that it is warmer she wears the Undertech compression shorts. She really likes them. You do have to understand that my wife while well dressed, doesn't wear the latest trends. When she is wear...

Re: MS: VIDEO: Lone Cop Destroys Two Men Trying To Kill Him In Gas Station Gunfight

I wonder how many times Clancy shot his own brother? Hard to tell from the angle and movement but it looks like he is firing while Elliot is riding the officer down to the ground at 0:55. It also appears that Clancy retrieved a second weapon out of the vehicle. At 1:04 he has both hands on the vehic...

Re: That thing that never happens...it happened again

This case shows why these types of situations are so challenging. I read this part: The officers were told by the couple that they were on their way home when they observed a 29-year-old female being held at gunpoint by a male, later identified as Jeremy Cintron, 20-years-old of 21 Fairfax Road. Th...

Re: Hunt ISD teachers can now carry

I've heard from the inside that Lubbock ISD and Floyadada are also seriously considering the Guardian program. I don't know how far along they are, who will be allowed, or if it will even be adopted. I don't have any media references for the schools I listed but I do have personal/professional knowl...

REI Pressuring Vista (Savage Arms)

I ran across this yesterday. https://newsroom.rei.com/company-information/statements/rei-statement-on-relationship-with-vista-outdoor.htm "This morning we learned that Vista does not plan to make a public statement that outlines a clear plan of action (in regards to gun violence). As a result, we ha...

Re: Do Own A Sig 365?

A friend just got one last week. He brought it out to a training session we were doing and ran a few rounds through it before we started and let us do the same. Far from being an exhaustive test, there was no problems with a box of WWB. Everyone, of all hand sizes, liked it. My hands are not big, an...

Re: Medical accessories

I had started carrying a CAT-7 TQ but now with the weather warmer and not wearing a vest it is a little obtrusive on the belt. I need to figure out a way to either carry it on my ankle, which I don't think I'll like, or go to a more compact TQ like the RATS or SWAT and relegate the CAT to the truck ...

Re: Denial

I had a student one time that mentioned several times he was bipolar and had been in and out of treatment. I tried to delicately fish around as to if he mentioned such on his application. From what I gathered he never declared it. I gave him all his paperwork and promptly contacted RSD and told them...

Re: Stop the Bleed

kinda late to the convo, but i've been looking for a tq for about a month now. i see a lot of reviews on a lot of different brands that say they dont have enough length to them to apply to a larger limb (like a thigh or a fat persons upper arm) would the SOFTT-W gen4 accommodate a "huskier" person?...
