Re: Sig...did I limp wrist it?
I'm not sure what is going on. I read a couple of articles about the new 229s not working right. As far as I'm concerned a good quality firearm of any kind should be able to fire any ammo. If it won't function with some ammo I'm not interested. The only exception being tight groups with certain ammo...

NJSP are having an issue too but it looks like it might be their cheap range ammo. https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2017/ ... ing-p229s/

Re: Are Grill Covers Really Needed?
I cover my grill. It's all steel and the grates are made of thick cast iron so if I don't cover it it will rust. Besides that if I don't cover it then the rain will go down the smokestack and get the charcoal ashes all wet and then become a pain to dump out.

Re: Private sale of a handgun by an Illinois resident to a Texas resident
Dd you fly or drive up there? If you drove he could then just gift it to you and keep the government out of it all together. Keep it at his house until you left and then put it in your trunk. If you flew I could see wanting to do the FFL transfer to avoid hassle at the airport.

About time fees reduced
It looks like Texas is finally going to lower the high price to get a LTC. For me between the cost of the classes and then the $140 the money involved has served as a poll tax for me as I have been unable to afford it. When I lived here before I was able to get my CHL but since I moved back it has b...

Re: new SA and RRA info
this is a new article and needs it's own thread not buried 4 pages into an existing one about an article from last week. New revelations need a new thread or no one will see.

They knew what their lobbyist was doing. A big move on a stance on legislation doesn't happen without approval.

Re: Think twice about Springfield and RRA
Remington is slowly pulling out of New York. A while ago they opened a plant in Tennessee or Alabama. I can't remember which one. All new production is there now. I think Ruger may still have their headquarters in CT but they now make their guns in New Hampshire and Arizona.

Think twice about Springfield and RRA
Think twice before you buy a Springfield Armory or a Rock River Arms. They withdrew opposition to an Illinois gun control bill in exchange for an exemption to the law. After they withdrew their opposition the bill passed the state Senate by one vote. https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2017/04/john-bo...

Re: California LEOs selling illegal guns
I say good for them. The oppressed citizens can't buy the pistols because they aren't on the list but can if a LEO sells them. Take advantage of the loophole. This country was founded on smuggling, evading taxes, and disobeying unjust laws. If we didn't we would still be British subjects paying the ...

Re: Who else is a 45acp man?
I used to carry a G30SF with HSTs and a spare G21 mag. I used to live where there are monthly indoor GSSF matches. Different courses of fire required having to fire 10 amount of rounds at differing times and distances. You also had to shoot weak hand only. I found that sometimes I wouldn't fire all ...

Re: Smart Guns
I was also thinking about EMPs and solar flares. Tech would be used to track and disable so called smart guns. For years now people have been able to hack cars using the bluetooth link from the tire pressure sensor to the car's computer. It's now come out that the CIA can weaponize cars through hack...

Re: Ban Cops from Glocks
I think it's because the higher end 1911s are finished to higher tolerances so they can't tolerate the build up of as much crud. The 1911s from the WW1 and 2 weren't the hand finished 1911s that are out there now. I think relying on a manual safety or a heavy DA first pull breeds complacency. There ...
