Re: FL: Home invasion repelled with superior firepower

According to my wife, skipping the "like" button is fightin words! In all seriousness though, this is something I worry about where BG's will announce that they are LEO's. Could lead to a very tricky judgment call. Are they just at the wrong house, or is this really a home invasion? Which...

Re: Is PETA running DFW Gun range?

IMHO, shooting at a picture of a dog does nothing except desensitize a person towards shooting something they would normally have an issue shooting in the first place. YMMV The one time I have tried shooting a “coyote” it was during a night match and the target was an IDPA target sideways and low to...

Re: Front Sight Focus---Or Not...

Opinions, anyone? Of course we have opinions. My own real life experience is limited to IDPA and IDPA style self defense matches. At self defense distances, figure less than 20 feet and probably more often than not, bad breath distance, getting your handgun out in time will be the biggest cha...

Great stance, but I have wonder. She says they have attended games before. Does anyone believe the signs or prohibition of firearms is new?

Re: New to Texas: Does This Sign Hold Legal Power?

Took the kids to Kiddie Park in San Antonio. They did not have a 30.07 posted, but had this instead. Am I correct to say this holds no legal power over my ability to conceal inside this business? It depends. How new to Texas are you? Do you have a Texas LTC or one from another state that Texas reco...

Re: Is the .40 dead?

It’s a compromise caliber that is more difficult to shoot than either 9mm or .45ACP. I started with the .40 and now have .45’s. Some folks went up, while some down.

Re: Sorry - but I have to confirm regarding transfers.

Why are you even bothering with transfers? There is no "registry" and Texas doesn't care. How is it any different than buying from a private seller as no 4473 is done then? Because for now my mom still lives in another state. It didn’t occur to me until I was typing my initial post, but w...

Sorry - but I have to confirm regarding transfers.

My dad recently past away out of state and did not have his firearms specifically listed as part of a will to whom he would bequeath them. Something that I'll get taken care of for myself as soon as possible, although not as big of an issue since anyone I would leave them to is still in Texas. My mo...

Re: Recommend Light/Laser or Just Light?

I tried a light/laser combo several years ago for about $90. The laser showed me how much I am unable to keep perfectly still and messed with my sight picture in case the laser failed and I had to go back to iron sights. Then within the first year, IIRC, the light failed during a night match. :totap...

I heard the click. It may or may not have been supposed to be a pull of the trigger.

This video has been linked on this forum before. It’s been a while.

As I scrolled through the OP's link I began noticing that it appeared all their rifles/carbines might bee 9mm. Then way down I noticed what looked like a couple SCAR 17S'.

If my googlefu is working, MISD is Montgomery, TX, down just a little west of Conroe. No?

This would not be my my district.

Re: What are the gaps in your collection?

Full automatic. Always wanted a Tommy gun. Too expensive. Ditto on the Thompson and don't have for the same reason. I don't have too many "holes" in my "arsenal." M1A would be nice like the FAL I already mentioned. I don't think I have any handgun itches. Well, other than an act...
