military crimped brass

Question: How difficult is it to reload military brass?

I was hoping to purchase a 1,000 rounds or so of 5.56, but want to be able to reload it. Looking at getting something like Lake City M855 or XM193F 5.56mm 55 Grain FMJ.

Thanks!

Re: case failure

When you section it, I bet you'll find it was ringed on the inside. Even on the first reloading, commercial brass can show signs of impending head separation. Lets see a picture of the internals... :waiting: :waiting:  Ok, here it is. Sorry it has taken so long! I got busy. http://farm3.st...

Re: Inverted primer

As mentioned above, pull the bullet & powder, and then run the case back through the re-sizing die. The primer will come out WITHOUT problem! Just go easy on the press handle when the case goes up into the die, and also wear eye protection just in the off chance that you are that 1 in 1,000,000...

Re: How many guns do you carry

I only carry one pistol but i toy with the idea of carry a second piece. Does anyone out there carry 2 pistols? Are they the same kind of handgun or caliber even? Do you carry extra mags for both weapons? One gun right now. A Walther PPS 9mm. But I have been looking really hard at the S&W Airli...

Re: Inverted primer

After reloading some .40 s&w i found one of the rounds with an inverted primer. Can i safely remove the primer? If not then what do i do with the round? Mike C. This has happened to me, more than a few times. :grumble I was a bit nervous about pressing out a live primer, so I dunked the round i...

Re: IDPA Presentation in class TONIGHT!

IDPA looked interesting to me too. I've been reading the website and the competition rules. Maybe somebody that is a member can explain something to me. It could just be I'm not understanding what I'm reading. So, the general charter seems to be to compete in situations that are similar to potentia...

case failure

I shot my M1 Garand today at the PSC Rifle Prone Match today using all reloaded brass. I did not have an optimal powder for the M1 so I loaded pretty light. All 60 cartridges shot without a problem, but when I got back home and started cleaning and sorting them I found this: http://farm3.static.flic...

Re: I was Made!!

I got the flu recently (not swine :)) and went in to visit my primary care physician. I was carrying my Kimber Ultra Carry IWB at 4:00. During the course of the exam, my doctor lifted the back of my shirt to listen to my lungs with his stethoscope. He immediately noticed my pistol, dropped my shirt...

Re: PSC 3 Gun Match

I am sure everyone got a good laugh at my questions! "rlol"

Anyone able to give me some advice? Even if I don't have the ideal gear, I would rather participate then just be a spectator.

Thanks! :thumbs2:
