Re: Unlicensed Carry on Private Property

"is engaging in lawful hunting, fishing, or other sporting activity on the immediate premises where the activity is conducted..." That's the key for unlicensed carry. But with regards to giving permission to someone without a license at a business not involved in the above, I remember dis...

Re: Allegations of Inappropriate Conduct? Schadenfreude at work?

Ummm--Joe Barton, our Republican Texas Congressman ??? .... Joe Barton's issue is one of idiocy where he was apparently having an affair in a consensual relationship while still married. He might actually be the victim of a crime perpetrated by the ex girlfriend with the publication of the photos. ...

Re: Liability of business owners who ban licensed handguns

I wish any no gun sign would be classified as an attractive nuisance like swimming pools with no fence. But I don't think any court would rule that way.

common mistake to not read further: (i) Subsections (b)(4), (b)(5), (b)(6), and (c) do not apply if the actor was not given effective notice under Section 30.06 or 30.07. I saw AG Ken Paxton in an interview with Laura Ingraham say that it is confusing the way it is worded and too many people think ...

Re: Question about Church Safety Teams

jmra, I only have time to answer part now but I think your premise prior to the change in law is not correct. But you bring up some interesting points about the change in la 1. Many functions performed by church members such as greeters, ushers, parking lot teams could be interpreted as "securi...

Re: Straus not running for a new term.

The democrats and RINOs will elect another Joe Strauss as Speaker. My Rep is a RINO and has a good rating on 2A issues but he will join the democrats on this. But we need a Speaker that is not a RINO.

Re: Home Security Cameras.

I agree about the lack of good security for Cloud on the internet. With my system, it is a risk that the NVR could be stolen. But hoping the alarm system, dogs, and it being hidden keep that from happening before the Police arrive. I also agree about the lack of security for WiFi but can be helped w...

Re: Traffic Violation

I too agree with crazy2medic. In light of the Philando Castile incident and the two others mentioned just in this thread, I think it is unwise to get your ID and insurance before the officer asks for it. Police officers have a legitimate concern for their own safety and seeing someone reaching anywh...

Re: Need Vegas Info

Granted, being armed at the concert would not have prevented it. But I believe both the hotel and venue were both off limits and thus moves this mass shooting into the "Gun Free Zone" category.

Re: AntiGun Statistician Finds Gun Control Doesn't Work

Thought I posted this from the article too: I researched the strictly tightened gun laws in Britain and Australia and concluded that they didn’t prove much about what America’s policy should be. Neither nation experienced drops in mass shootings or other gun related-crime that could be attributed to...

AntiGun Statistician Finds Gun Control Doesn't Work

This is a big deal when a self avowed gun control anti gunner looks at the data and realizes gun control doesn't work when they actually looked at the data: Before I started researching gun deaths, gun-control policy used to frustrate me. I wished the National Rifle Association would stop blocking c...

Re: Gun safe thoughts/advice

I haven't bought a safe yet. We just bought our current home this year so I am thinking about it too - hopefully next year. I have a GunVault next to the bed for night and a small safe in my home office. A few years back I bought the Stack-On metal cabinet since we still have a youngling at home. I ...
