Re: Suppressor build success

Hmmmm. Are you using the challenge coin inside the can to keep it tight? Mine uses no coin (because I literally forgot about it during the build, dummy that I am) but I've had no issues keeping mine tight onto the Griffin device. I didn't use the challenge coin based on earlier comments. The suppre...

The Fun Continues …

Pro-tip - cut your blast-chamber about 1/8" longer than you measured, because the plugs will settle a little bit after the first 10 rounds or so. Yep yep yep! He's right. It may take 100 rounds, but it WILL settle in. You guys were correct! I've probably shot ~125 rounds through my suppressor ...

Re: Please Post Your Favorite Chili Recipies

So your favorite chili recipe will much appreciated. This recipe might better be described as chili stew. Primary ingredients: ground beef; onions; green pepper; tomatoes; and beans. Beef and Bean Chili; Makes 4 servings (good idea to double it) 4 teaspoons olive oil 2 onions, chopped 1/2 carrot, c...

Re: Suppressor build success

Excellent! Congratulations on getting it put together. Fun, isn't it? It was indeed a fun and interesting challenge. If the Hearing Protection Act passes, I'll probably do another one or two. I noticed, however, that the links on page 2 of this thread that TAM originally posted regarding parts from...

The Naked Suppressor !!

Here's the 'nekkid' photo — without the cover. It looks pretty much like TAM's with the Griffin adapter. http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m184/DarkField/Hunt-Shoot/Suppressor/Suppressor%20Uncovered_zpspvu7jhwy.jpg I got the stamp between Christmas and New Year's, and quickly put it together. Then ...

Re: AR10. To do or not to do

I have an AR-10. Having said that, the main advantage of an AR-10 over other heavier-than-5.56 calibers is that .308 ammo is plentiful and varied. In my case I use it for hog hunting. I have a 300 Blackout for shorter range hunting at night when I'm doing spot and stalk or spending time over a feede...

Re: Suppressor build success

When are you going to post pics? Lets start with this one: Since Andy and TAM have done such an excellent job of illustrating the construction and composition of their suppressors, and because mine is essentially just a copy of the work they did, here's a photo of my very cool suppressor ...

Re: Suppressor build success

FINALLY made it out to the farm and had a chance to try my suppressor. It's certainly not movie picture quiet, but it does knock the noise down to a tolerable level. With subsonic ammo (I'm shooting a 300 Blackout) I could hear the bullet hit the target 50 yards away. Main things to me were that it ...

Re: Suppressor build success

One thing to be aware of..... when I had the challenge coin in mine, it would get so tight onto the Griffin taper mount after shooting a while that I couldn't get the adapter dismounted from the mount, not even by waiting until everything cooled. I had to unscrew the tube/bafflestack/endcap from th...

Re: Suppressor build success

The suppressor is all together, and I was going to try it out last weekend but the rain kept me from doing that. I planned to shoot on some family property NE of New Braunfels, but it was way too muddy. Soon, I hope … I built this up specifically for my 300 BLK rifle, but figured I can also use it o...

Re: HB 1050 - Ad Valorem Tax Reform

I know in my county, if you server two full terms as a commissioner, that's just 8 years, you get a pension for life. Where else can you get a pension after 8 years? :mad5 Well, there may be more to the story … I worked for an employer who had a pension plan. You were vested in the pension after fi...
