Re: Have you bought a meal for a first responder

Oh, another thing my wife & I have done a few times is to bring a basket of fruit to the local police station. We've done it the past two Christmas', and after the police ambush in Dallas we made a bunch of homemade cookies and delivered them. We live in a really small town, and know the chief b...

Re: Have you bought a meal for a first responder

I certainly haven't made any grand gestures. but on a couple of occasions when I've been out hog hunting I've stopped for a soda in town. Occasionally the local police or a sheriff's deputy is there doing the same thing. When I get to the counter I tell the clerk to take care of the officer's purcha...

Re: Suppressor build success

Among other chores for the day, like taking down Christmas lights and some other items on SWMBO's list I managed to finish my suppressor. I drilled the end cap and challenge coin, and then cut the spacer. It'll be next weekend before I can get away to try it out, but I'm ready to go. As suggested I ...

Re: Who do you trust?

Generally I check out Yahoo News for a variety of sources. For a European angle I read Der Spiegel online. For tech news I occasionally read The Register. Breitbart and Drudge are (to me) like listening to Rush Limbaugh. I can only take a few minutes at a time. PBS is almost as bad sometimes, althou...

Re: Suppressor build success

Good info !!

It's 28°F this morning, and my garage/shop is not heated, so work is slightly delayed (yah, I'm that wimpy) but I'm getting close.

Re: Suppressor build success

First - congrats! Second - my forming tool has a hole in it to act as a pilot guide for drilling the initial hole. In the pics you posted above, your tool appears to have one as well. Ah, it's been so long since I formed the plugs that I'd forgotten about that! ( grumble, gummit, 7 months of waitin...

Re: Suppressor build success

Finally got my Form 1 in, it arrived between Christmas and New Year's. Starting to work on drilling things out and running into what may be a slight problem. How to accurately center the holes in the baffles. I formed them a few months ago, and I just assumed that the forming tool would put a center...

Re: Gonzales City Council is going

I'm far from an expert, but I'm under the impression that they can probably do that.

I think governmental bodies that may be voting on issues can legally prohibit firearms while the meeting(s) are taking place.

If I'm wrong, let me know!

Re: 721 & 722 Shooters?

My hog hunting buddy uses a 721 in 30-06 which seems to shoot quite well. I believe these rifles had a problem with the trigger which the factory would fix - some sort of safety issue. My buddy checked with Remington and they told him his had been done before he acquired it. I don't think they do th...

Re: How do you like my new signature line?

(sigh) My state rep is Donna Howard, who's sponsoring legislation to allow public colleges & universities to prohibit campus carry, and also wants to make hospitals & nursing homes automatically off-limits. I wrote to her asking for support for HB560, but I haven't received any response and ...
