Re: WINCHESTER Model 1895

Ha ha! It was a neighbor and she knew I hunt etc. The rifle was not on display at the garage sale. She told she had a couple of guns for sale so I said "sure, I will take a look", imaging my surprise when I saw the 1895. I asked her how much she wanted for it and she said "what do yo...

Re: Reloading Question

Ask him "Oh, reloading... so I guess you use more powder when you use a heavier bullet, huh?" Heavier bullets use less powder (of the same kind) - non-reloaders always assume heavier bullet, more powder. or something like "Which brand of primers do you prefer, Lee or Hornady?" (...

Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast

I was just messing with my daughter by kneeling. Regarding the hair: I realized a few years ago that I was no longer doing the thing that I first cut my hair short for and stopped cutting it. I started getting trims after a year or so to wait for the top/front to catch up with the back in length. I...

I thought so, too. I got some input from the S&W forum and bought it.

Re: How Effective are Target Wadcutters as a Self-Defense Load?

I have no personal practical evidence of this. The man who instructed me in revolver shooting was the Range Officer at are local PD. He would load wad cutters backwards ( he called dum dum rounds) and said they made good SD rounds. He probably loaded hollow based was cutters. I used to do that when...

Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast

Sure is! H-dub was laughing so hard at me because I was squatting down a little closer to her height. I don't know why I also didn't realize my hair was so long in the back. :coolgleamA: I wondered what we going on with the bent knees! The last photos I took of you your hair style was...

Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast

Enjoyed meeting the DFW bunch. Thanks for the warm welcome. Enjoyed seeing several familiar faces from some of the Elm Fork skeet shoots. Namely C-dub, H-dub and the gentleman who let me shoot his Marlin .444 at the shoot and BBQ meet, whose screen name I forgot as well as meeting many new faces to ...

Bring it on Puma Guy.

It looks like H-dub will be with me again. See everyone in the morning.

I'll see a couple of familiar faces along with the new ones.

My relatives in Tellico Plains have a cemetery named after them. I hope it wasn't distant cousins trying to get there before their time!

Help needed for S&W 27-2 3-1/2" Nickel value?

I'm out of town and don't have access to my Blue Book. Does anyone have access to a Blue Book for the value of a Model 27-2 3-1/2" Bbl Nickel plated with presentation box and paper work. I'd say it's in very good, close to excellent condition. Target grips, target hammer and trigger. Thanks. ht...
