Re: Weekend range time in DFW?

Great fun at the range today. I got to try out my friends ACOG and really liked it. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get my own. My daughter had a good and frustrating time on the skeet range. She's good on stations 1-2 and 6-7, but still having trouble with 3-5. When I stand behind to try and figure o...

Re: Showing ID to buy household stuff

I ran into the same thing when I bought some tile cleaner from Wal Mart several years ago. I make my own windshield washer solvent. Dawn dish soap, ammonia, isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol and water. You can leave out the alcohol, but I always add it for the anti-freeze effect. I always have to fill my ...

Re: Need a Gunsmith to work on a Marlin Model 81-DL 22 rifle

Does your dad's 81DL still have the peep sight. yes it does... Ok too late tonight but will work on it this week. Thanks Bobby Did you get your 81DL feed problem resolved? One other thing I meant to mention, though I don't think it's an issue with your rifle. There is a spring steel cartridge guide...

Re: Plastic Guns and Accessories.

I think that polymer guns will last a lot longer than some people think. Some of the torture tests that polymer-framed handguns have been subjected to would have destroyed wood and steel guns. The Bakelite grips that are on my dad's WW2 era 1911A1 are still on the gun, and they work fine.....and I ...

Re: Watched Hacksaw Ridge last night

It is a great movie, but I loathe how much Hollywood changed the facts. His exploits on his MOH citation are even more heroic than what the movie portrays: DOSS, DESMOND T. Rank and organization: Private First Class, U.S. Army, Medical Detachment, 307th Infantry, 77th Infantry Division. Place and d...

Re: Plastic Guns and Accessories.

It's really hard to say. I think my Glocks and other polymer guns will be around in 50 years. And prob still shootable Glock is about 35 years old. Well on its way to 50. Maybe they will never be as collectable as WWII 1911s. Colt Navy Revolvers. I also wonder about AR15s with polymer stocks.. Mayb...

Watched Hacksaw Ridge last night

We rented and watched "Hacksaw Ridge" last night. Very well done movie in my opinion. While I was watching it I was thinking it was almost understated. When I watched and heard some short comments from Desmond Doss at the end I then understood why. I think Mel Gibson portrayed Doss's amazi...

Re: Active shooter drill to test Horseshoe Bay city employees

I've stayed at the Horseshoe Bay Resort many times. Considering the resort's hundreds of weekly visitors and its huge economic impact on the community, did the drill extend to the resort? If not, was the drill worth anything at all? Probably made the career leftist politicians feel good. If they le...

Maybe they'll allow you to pass a proficiency test and get licensed to bring in your own glass... as long as no one sees it and gets uncomfortable. Nothing over 10 ounces though. "rlol" Ooooooh! Ice cold draft beer.... in a frosted plastic solo cup! Bar stools will be next! Cue sticks in ...
