Nice dimple on the primer - no bang.

Curious if you retried it.

Re: Star Model F .22 lr pistol

Finally! got the firing pin and thumb safety lever replaced, cleaned up and out to the 'range' - a creek bank on my property that I can shoot into. This is a fun plinker. shoots well and straight, ejects somewhere off the my right. I just have to make sure to count my shots because the slide doesn'...

Re: Red/Green Reflex Sight For A Buckmark

Something I've just considered: Weight of the reflex sight. Currently, the one I mentioned mounted on my S&W M&P 15-22 weighs 6.4 oz. which on the rifle isn't noticable, but on a pistol...? Also, I don't know if the new rail to accommodate it on my Buckmark is more or less in weight than th...

Re: Gloves while shooting?

Back in my younger days when I shot my Ruger .44 mag a lot I'd wear a really thin pair of golf gloves. If I shot it a lot nowadays I'd probably find a thin glove to use again, although the golf gloves these days seem to be much thicker than the ones I had. I wear gloves when I hunt if it's cold but ...

Re: House Bill Would Disband Scandal-Plagued ATF

TAM, I agree about the IRS. The ATF was not as political until Janet Reno (that I'm aware of). I didn't have that much involvement with them 'til the late 80s and then still it was not a lot. After that some of involvement was ATF agents that were on loan to the Secret Service during the presidenta...

Re: House Bill Would Disband Scandal-Plagued ATF

$1.2 billion. 5,000 people Budget and employees? I'm sure that most of those employees would still be employed by the IRS, FBI or DEA. The jobs they perform would still need to be performed within the agencies that take over the responsibilities of the dissolved ATF. As far as budget, last time I l...

Re: Almost had a ND

One easy way to ensure safety with initial dry fire is to have a 5 gallon bucket of sand in the closet (or wherever you store guns or initiate cleaning) and dry fire into it. Some might think this is a waste because "of course your gun is unloaded if you're going to dry fire it." If the g...

Re: Red/Green Reflex Sight For A Buckmark

I just discovered through a bit of research, my Browning Buckmark Camper Bull Barrel .22 cal. in Stainless pistol can accommodate a red/green reflex sight (or not reflex...). A micro size red/green reflex sight is what I want though as I have a larger size reflex sight mounted on a S&W M&P ...

Re: Guns + Roommates using Marijuana

The issue with roommates using illegal drugs is you may get caught up in a possession charge yourself, using or not, since they are in the same residence. And it may not be just marijuana, they may step up to higher level drugs or narcotics, which could result in major criminal charges and long jai...

Re: Almost had a ND

I must confess to one. I was about 12 and we had been goose hunting at Eagle Lake. I had a JC Higgins 12ga pump as did my twin brother, my dad was using my grandfather's Model 10 Remington pump. We all unloaded our guns before leaving, ejecting all the shells and racking them several times, before l...

Re: Do you wear gloves when cleaning your guns?

I have been using M-Pro 7 Gun Cleaner. It's non-toxic, environmentally safe, does a really good job at removing carbon and it does not stink. http://www.mpro7.com/m-pro7-gun-cleaner.html Edited to add that the M-Pro 7 Gun Cleaner has no odor. Here is an explanation as to why http://www.mpro7.com/if...
