Re: IL: Dems push bill rewarding schools that replace armed officers with therapists

Why only schools? If this is such a great idea, then all Illinois police should also be replaced with licensed therapists. The dem leaders in that state could start by replacing their personal security details with therapists. That would undoubtedly make the entire state safer. Beat me to it! :iagr...

The 590M is fed from a 10-round double-stack magazine.

That makes more sense than the 6 round Remington's.

Re: Remington 870 w/detachable magazine

So Mrs. VolTexan wants a “Mother’s Day shotgun” as her gift this year. I’ve long been a pistol and rifle shooter, and admit to not knowing enough about shotguns to make an informed decision on a home-defense shotgun, so I’m turning to the most reliable source on firearms knowledge available: YOU! I...

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods to destroy all unsold firearms after Parkland shooting

Destroying the weapons is all about the publicity. They could have quietly donated them to law enforcement and even if they didn't consider that an option they could have quietly destroyed them. Instead they make a big deal out of it to garner some additional publicity now that the initial fanfare h...

Re: Benbrook PD Called for Gun Tshirt in Park

I don't know where you live, but around here a T-shirt is far more common attire than a suit at parks. It's not a matter of T-shirt v. suit, it's the provocative nature of some shirts. I wear a lot of T-shirts that have NRA or other gun/shooting related printing and I've never had anyone say a word...

Re: Remington 870 w/detachable magazine

The 870 is a sturdy, reliable mainstay in the shotgun world. You can't go wrong buying one. Adding a detachable magazine is superfluous. Unless you are in a firefight, needing additional shots quickly I'd stick to the tried and true tube fed version. It can be loaded quickly enough in normal circums...

Re: Motorcyclist Crashes and shoots self

My first question is what handgun was he carrying. The first thing that comes to my mind is a SAA .22 revolver of original design. The hammer could have struck or been struck hard enough to discharge the weapon. It actually doesn't take much to do that.

Re: FFL Transfer fees The Arms Room

I don’t think most firearm owners comprehend the costs involved for a brick and mortar gun shop. You may think anything more than $10 for a transfer is high but I can tell you there’s at least that much cost in labor just to process one transfer. I’m not going to break it down but there are other t...

Re: FFL Transfer fees The Arms Room

I can see the day when brick and mortar stores will be few and far between, the only thing that will save them is sales tax across the board on out of state sales. When people like Buds Gun Shop have to charge sales tax for every sale things will equalize and the local dealer can compete. People li...
