If it were me, I don't think I'd be asking anybody there (or anywhere in Texas for that matter) about any kind of signage....

Her comments are those of an intellectual elitist. They think that their increased social skills offend no one and as a result of such refinement and social grace they are immune to common faults of mankind. They make no one mad so how could they possibly make enemies that necessitate the carrying o...

Nope. Not crazy. Had nothing in my hands (after I put 'it' and another bag in the trunk). I was just trying to make the most of my time. He asked me to return to the car which I did. I was stressed and not thinking. I was in a strange place looking for a location to which I had never been. Although ...

Except as expressly set out in TPC §30.06, a 30.06 sign cannot be used to exclude an armed CHL from government-owned property or property leased by the government. Renting or leasing government property to a non-governmental entity or a person does not change this. This issue came up during discus...

There is no question in my mind that if a private party leases a public building in Texas, the private party can let whomever they want into the event and keep out whomever they want as well. This thread is not about whether GRB can prohibit CHL. It is about whether the renter can prohibit CHL. As t...

The owner of a public building, i.e., the State or a subdivision of the State, cannot prohibit carry of concealed handguns under SB 501. However, if a person or entity rents the building or space for a private event, then the renters can put up whatever sign or make conditions for entry they want.

I want one! I hear training for the permit is anticipated to be available in the DFW area (if it's not already) in early November. With it I can pick up two states that my Florida and Texas permits do not cover: Washington and Minnesota.

Coppell Police

I was pressed for time and unfamiliar with the location for my appointment in Coppell on Thursday afternoon. Enroute, I had called the person with whom I was to meet but got his voicemail instead of his live voice so I was on my own for locating his office. I drove through a construction zone, made ...

Speaking of Luby's, I was at Luby's in Houston this morning for the breakfast buffet. I really don't care to be anywhere in Houston unarmed. I had my little friend with me and my shirt was tucked in, too.

Yes, that is how I understand it. The hospital is apparently improperly posted for 30.06 according to the information presented at the beginning of this thread. That said, if a person were to carry there, be discovered to be carrying, and then informed that CHL is forbidden on the premises (a legiti...

It's not a tough call at all. He works for the hospital. If his employee manual has a passage that forbids employees having weapons at work then the issue of whether the 30.06 sign is correctly posted is moot. For him, the employee manual is the guiding document and has nothing to do with state law ...
