Re: Found some .380--Ft Worth

Academy in Round Rock has been carrying Monarch brand, but good luck with that - my Kahr P380 does not like those hard primers, and was getting a few FTF's per magazine!

Re: How often do you change your conceal mags, or springs?

I have about a dozen high quality .45 ACP mags (1911) and each one is numbered. I rotate through them for carry with each range visit and then buy a bunch of replacement springs about every 5 years.

Re: How long should a Pistol Last

I shot the lockwork right out of a 6" Colt Python back in the 80's, but it took about 50k rounds, and it was in my younger years when ammo was cheaper and my arms were stronger, so I shot way too many .357 loads through it. I have broken a few guns as a result of my own stupidity, but have neve...

Re: Parking a gun on the table

My, what a thread! At the risk of being villified, I'm afraid I have to side with 03Lightningrocks on this one, understanding that there are always exceptions for those stuck in a high threat environment. But for the rest of us, hey not so much. As Mas Ayood said in LFI class, you should think of yo...

Re: trigger finger

The fact that you favor your sinister hand (me too) has little to do with it other than you are further negating all of the effort that manufacturers put into ergonomics; gun makers, grip makers, etc., etc. all assume you will be using your trigger (a.k.a., index) finger on the trigger and work hard...

Re: Where is gun while you drive ?

I found a small zipped case made for a portable backup drive at TJ MAX for $5.00. My PF9 and extra mag fits in it perfectly. It rides in the drivers door pocket. No one can tell whats inside! And I can carry it around without any suspicion. Ditto. I'm a southpaw, and my Kahr P380 is my constant com...

Re: Where do you buy your guns?

The only thing better than owning a boat is having a friend that owns a boat. The only thing better than that is having a friend who holds an FFL and will get you pretty much anything at cost... Sometimes I jump on ridiculously great deals at Gunbroker (I once bought a SW Custom shop 44 mag supercom...

Re: Opinions on Sig firearms, specifically P220 Combat

A friend of mine has a Sig 220 that he bought used as his first, one-and-only gun for home protection. I trained him to shoot with it and the excellent ergonomics and trigger are a testiment to how quickly he became proficient. it is likely more accurate than most who shoot it. My only complaint, as...

Mine comes from the monniker I took for my first foray into cowboy action shooting; I had a Ruger Vaquero and a Marlin 94 - both in .44...

Re: Kahr takedown tool !!!!

Ditto on the toothbrush idea; the one I keep in my kit is tapered so it works for the K40 as well as the P380; just slide it in until the takedown notch lines up. (wow. my first post since joining after sniping here for months...)
