Re: Interpreting TWU Campus Carry

Looks like if you stay out of Room 102, and off of the 6th floor, and you should be fine. at bottom of page 3; THOSE AFFECTED BY THE POLICY [X] TWU Students , Faculty, Staff, and Guest Thanks for the reply. I had hoped that someone had been on the TWU campus and seen the presence or absence of sign...

Interpreting TWU Campus Carry

I'm planning to attend a Skywarn training class a TWU this coming Saturday. The course is listed to take place in the Multi-Purpose Classroom Laboratory with no more details. I assume that there will be signs directing me to the actual room. I found the TWU Campus Carry policy here. http://www.twu.e...

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?

I had the opportunity to attend a meeting last night where the speaker was Attorney General Paxton. We could write down questions for him. Here was mine. What does the 2017 Legislature need to do to deal with the government entities that continue to prohibit licensed carry even after the "fines...

Re: CHL convicted of 21 felonies by drawing his gun when he felt threatened by BLM

I watched the interview with the woman (a school teacher) at the center of this video tape. She is an activist who claims that she must "shut down Facists". I see it as a parallel to the BLM activites. She was at the UC Berkely protest and proudly proclaimed her success there. https://www....

Re: Sad but probably true, Politcal Violence

I have engaged in several "discussion" with leftists on FB and other social media. I try very had not to call names. But inevitably within two posts, they start calling me names. They also invariably accuse me of not reading widely. Then I find out they read nothing but the mainstream med...

Re: Licensed but don't carry? Why?

Isn't part of this like exercise equipment? Many people buy it, know it is good for them and maybe even have a doctor yelling at them (like mine at me) that they need to exercise more. They know they should and took the first steps toward doing it but..... I like the story of the doctor who convince...

Re: Today in Trump's new term as President

Staying with the DeVos theme, there may be more to her opposition than just education policy. They say that satire can sometimes go where normal conversation does not. We have to remember that there are a lot of frustrated anti-gun forces out there who are really feeling more stifled than others. ht...

Re: Licensed but don't carry? Why?

Chasfm11, you posted some of the typical excuses/reasons many people don't carry as often as they might. One of them in particular caught my attention. Manipulating a loaded pistol multiple times a day is too nerve wracking for some others that I've talked to. This was something that I had to overc...

Re: Licensed but don't carry? Why?

I was one who got my then CHL with no plan to carry daily. We have an RV and had always had a shotgun on board. However, we ran into several situations where that might not have been enough. I wanted a pistol and felt that I had to have the CHL for it. As others have said, the process (and expense) ...

Re: Calexit

Several States, including CA (NJ, CO, MD) have had secession discussions within themselves. In CA, there is a part of the geography would would be very unlikely to want to leave the US. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/13/us/13secession.html I hope that this discussion continues. When the Progressives...

Re: Calexit

In addition to electricity sourcing, they have another problem that they haven't thought through. While I realize that the US had military bases in other countries, I'm guessing that many of these wouldn't survive Calexit.

Re: Fuzzy's Tacos 30.07 posted

I don't understand the TABC reporting requirements for such events so I cannot judge the validity of the concern. I can understand someone not wanting to put their alcohol license in jeopardy. I believe the concern is that if someone is actually not licensed and openly carrying a handgun, then Fuzz...

Re: Fuzzy's Tacos 30.07 posted

I'm good friends with an owner of several Fuzzy's locations. He is very pro-gun He says that the 30.07 are there because of reporting requirements resulting from the TABC license. If I'm paraphrasing him correctly, his concern is about an OC incident in which the police are called by an irate custom...

Re: Have you bought a meal for a first responder

I have done it, but not exactly to my credit, I haven't done it in a while. It just slipped from my mind. OTH, I rarely ever eat out, so maybe that's why. This We don't eat out much either. I'm always on the lookout for first responders to at least thank them for their service. We have a group that...
