Re: Christie Signs Bump Stock Ban in NJ

This adds to the list of citizens of States in the Northeast who have made criminals out of their citizens over firearms. NY and CT both banned "assault" rifles and the citizens have not complied with either of those laws. I predict that won't be the last. I don't expect that NJ LE will be...

Re: Las Vegas Mandalay Bay Active Shooter

I'm not sure what this link is worth. It seems only to be speculation. I have zero confidence in the LVPD.

Re: AGGRAVATED ROBBERY ARRESTS, City Of Allen, TX

Our country is often criticized for housing ever so many criminals, far and away more so than the rest of the world percentage-wise. Why we have more prisons per....blah, blah, blah.... If you read the book "Rise of the Warrior Cop", it details that much of the incarceration in the US is ...

Re: Once again, unarmed does not equate to harmless

Our legal system should recognize a disparity in age (like the one in the story) as a factor in the use of a deadly force response but I'm not sure that it always does. Another story that I read this morning talked about 4 youth car jacking an elderly man and then running him over with his own car. ...

Re: 3000 accidental deaths per year

Food poisoning is very rarely the last thing you ate. In the case of C. diff, it definitely wasn't the last thing you ate. You could have been a carrier for years and something just gave it a chance to grow. The romaine outbreak hasn't hit the southern states. I wouldn't follow the advice given in ...

Re: 3000 accidental deaths per year

This might be funny to me if I hadn't gone through it last year. I ate a salad at a country club restaurant. 4 hours later, I was in severe GI distress that lasted all night. My family took me to the ER the next morning were I was suspected to have C. diff. They hospitalized me and pumped IV antibio...

Re: CA: No place but California

Back to the lawsuit. I don't believe that such a case is limited to Commiefornia In the late 90s, I was picked from a jury pool to hear a civil case in Ft. Worth. The Plaintiff had slipped on a quarter sized piece of melon rind on a shopping cart ramp at a supermarket on a busy Friday night, injurin...

Re: OC Has Gun Taken Away

I've done very little OC up to now because I didn't have a good retention holster and I was a little concerned about being in a similar situation. I finally bought a level 3 Safariland. It is still possible, though less likely, that someone could grab it by tripping the release lever. I'm normally v...

Re: WA: Train derailment-6 dead 77 wounded. Antifa bragged about pouring concrete on tracks

The article you linked says*: "Officials with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said late on Monday that a data recorder recovered from a rear locomotive showed the train was traveling 80 miles (130 km) per hour in a 30 mile-per-hour zone when it jumped the track at a curve leadi...

I also wonder about how repeated exposure to that radar - at the required 6 feet - in terms of personal health safety.

Re: Gun radar scanning

From the article: “I believe in people’s right to bear arms,” Mark Waltrip, Westgate Resort’s chief operating officer, says. “I have a concealed carry permit myself. But, you know, on our properties, we want to maintain a safe environment, and we don’t need guests bringing weapons on site. We really...

Re: Where will you go?

We have family in PA and travel there driving every couple of years. A great part of the National Reciprocity would relieve me of having to stop in Virginia and go through the FOPA routine so that I can drive along the very short stretch of I-81 in Maryland lawfully. We have friends in NJ but we hav...

From this article https://www.reuters.com/article/us-washington-train/speeding-train-derails-on-new-route-in-washington-state-killing-three-idUSKBN1EC239 This quote: Geoff Patrick, a spokesman for Sound Transit, which owns the track, said it had recently been upgraded to handle passenger trains from...
