Re: Fuzzy's Tacos 30.07 posted

I don't understand the TABC reporting requirements for such events so I cannot judge the validity of the concern. I can understand someone not wanting to put their alcohol license in jeopardy. I believe the concern is that if someone is actually not licensed and openly carrying a handgun, then Fuzz...

Re: Fuzzy's Tacos 30.07 posted

I'm good friends with an owner of several Fuzzy's locations. He is very pro-gun He says that the 30.07 are there because of reporting requirements resulting from the TABC license. If I'm paraphrasing him correctly, his concern is about an OC incident in which the police are called by an irate custom...

Re: Have you bought a meal for a first responder

I have done it, but not exactly to my credit, I haven't done it in a while. It just slipped from my mind. OTH, I rarely ever eat out, so maybe that's why. This We don't eat out much either. I'm always on the lookout for first responders to at least thank them for their service. We have a group that...

Re: Bills to fix the private entity leasing a government building loophole

The question comes when the private entity refuses entry or asks the license holder to leave based on the fact that the license holder is carrying. Bingo. For all purposes anybody here wants to describe or argue, they are enforceable until we get law in place to stop it. Nobody here is going to win...

Re: I got busted today...

If you get called out while CC, the chances are extremely high that the person calling you out is a fellow carrier. People that don't carry just don't notice those kinds of things even when it's blatantly obvious to people like us. Not always. The two times that I've been called out were complete a...

Re: Prison Documentaries

In last year's election for county sheriff in Denton county, one of the candidates stated that the Denton county jail was the largest mental health facility in that area. Perhaps that was more than a bit of over dramatization but, according to him, many of the jail occupants had mental issues which ...

Re: HS Student possibly crazy for being against gun control

In Texas the teacher and Counselor could be given letters of censure up to being Fired. The fact that the OP happened in Northern NJ is a key factor. Our kids attended NJ public schools not far away from where this incident happened, though it was quite a while ago. The mindset in the school system...

Re: law regarding vehicle carry on a private opt out college

Has anyone visited any of the North Texas private colleges or universities which have posted signs? I normally play Tuba Christmas at TCU but missed that date this year and didn't attend. I understand that they have opted out and was curious about any signage that they might have posted and where. S...

Re: 30.06 Ruling Letters

So basically child care centers are only off-limits if they post 30.06/07 or are in an otherwise prohibited location. Administrative code only applies to the child care facility, not license holders. Remember that in order to receive 30.06/07 notice, any written communication must be as described i...

Re: 30.06 Ruling Letters

So... all licensed child care centers are statutorily off limits since they are a school? Does this include daycares or does child care = daycare? I danced with this problem earlier this year. In January, the CPS sent out emails to many (all?) licensed preschool locations stating that Open Carry di...

Re: Denton County Office - Lewisville - 30.06

I was there today to go to the tax office. Either I was really in a fog or there were no signs. Based on this thread, I disarmed before I went into the building. I saw the Constable's desk but it was vacant when I entered. She was there when I left and I was going to ask her about the signs but she ...

Re: Criminals Feel Really Bad After Robbery Attempt, Mostly Due To Bullets

Something to think about with a National Reciprocity bill. . . . . For better or for worse, even if a bill like that passes, states are still allowed to set their own laws about things like magazine capacity. I'd love it if a reciprocity bill made it legal for me to carry whenever I visit family ba...

Re: Criminals Feel Really Bad After Robbery Attempt, Mostly Due To Bullets

I generally believe that the Federal government should stay out of the concealed handgun licensing. But NJ is one of the places where the proposed National reciprocity would help a lot. We lived not far from Newark and found it to be a cesspool of gun crime then. The Liberal legal establishment in ...

Re: Criminals Feel Really Bad After Robbery Attempt, Mostly Due To Bullets

Also from the article We’re glad that these two criminals are off the street, but wish all New Jersey citizens had the practical right to bear arms, and not just a favored few in protected classes. That pretty much sums up NJ and NJ concealed carry. Politicians and the politically connected are the ...

Re: This is extra wishful...51% changes

What I understand from listening to Charles is that doing away with most of 46.03/.035 will stop things like the Texas State Fair being off limits for LTC's because of someone's 51% sign being posted at the entry gate. A concert being off limits because a vendor has used that address for his licens...
