Flordia Data Hack - concealed license info

I searched but didn't find this topic so I'm adding it http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2017/05/23/Computer-hack-exposes-16000-Florida-concealed-weapon-permit-holders/6421495541945/?spt=su&or=btn_fb It looks like a small percentage were exposed (16,000 vs more than 1,000,000) but it is a concern t...

Re: Trip to New England with K6S ????

If you travel through Pennsylvania, you can use I-84 and cross into NY around Newburgh. You'll have to figure out if you can get to a safe haven from that point in a driving day - or not. Before I had an LTC, we traveled from Ephrata, PA to Mystic Seaport, CT (which is NOT a firearm safe haven) in o...

Re: How to talk to Anti's

Perhaps too often, I simply fail to engage in discussions with Antis. Of course, the attitude they usually bring to the discussion ("righteous" indignation that there can possibly be another perspective to consider) is not one I care to support by engaging them in debate. The "feeler...

Re: How to talk to Anti's

I was having a discussion with a buddy of mine. His wife and her friend across the street are adamantly against HB 1911. Their arguments are the same as the police unions and other anti-2a groups. My buddy and I came to the conclusion that people who are emotional and tend to base their decisions o...

Re: OR: Man fined for doing math without a license

In Texas, if your job title includes the word "engineer", you must have an engineering degree or your company will run afoul of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers. I'm not surprised at Oregon, but it is not necessary in all engineering disciplines to be licensed by the state. My ...

Re: Sb1588 to eliminate most vehicle inspections

I know how costly it can be when they check engine light comes on. About $13 on Amazon for a Bluetooth reader and $5 for the app that tells you what the most likely cause is. Reset it as you pull in for the inspection, and hope they get done before the light comes back on. The problem is that if it...

Re: Sb1588 to eliminate most vehicle inspections

Regarding auto insurance, there was a big push about 5 years ago for the insurance companies to send information to the DPS. I got caught up in that because my insurance company mis-typed the VIN on our RV and I got a letter saying that I had no insurance. It took a bit to get that fixed. Regarding ...

We are hitting the road for a couple of weeks on the 21st.......for Commiefornia. But after we get back, we're going to start investigating our state parks, as well as Arkansas, and SE Oklahoma too. Contact me when you get back. We've spent a lot of time in the State parts in the areas that you men...

Re: Turmoil in antigun groups

I may be the only one that thinks this way but I find it amazing that the anti-gun groups remain as dedicated as they are, given the breadth and quantity of their losses. They have a lot of tenacity. And despite the divisions, some of them bitter, the entire Liberal group seems very dedicated. Conse...

Re: Did we get shut out this year

My Texas House representative has been a vocal supporter of Joe Strauss. I've written USPS type letters to him, saying that he owns the results of bills that concern me not passing because of their dying in committees just as much as Strauss does. In addition, I've called his office and even visited...

Re: Travel Trailer register & tax

Tax, what tax? Sales tax is paid at time of purchase and license fees are paid with each license - new or renewal. Right? Correct. Tax is paid when you first buy the RV then each year the registration. Good, that's all we've been paying and that is plenty! Having to have you TT inspected is a FARCE...

Re: Texas sues Austin over sanctuary nonsense

I have no reason to try to defend General Paxton nor do I want to. I had the opportunity a couple of months ago to pose a written question to him about the fines for signs enforcement. General Paxton was at the event in person. I was fortunate in the fact that the person actually reading my question...

Re: KHOU Houston - Texas police chiefs fighting 'unlicensed carry'

There was a thread a while back where the suggestion made by Charles was to understand the problem that you are solving and to solve it with the least restrictive means. So what problem does the restriction of handguns to license carry solve - exactly? New Jersey restricts customers from pumping the...

Re: Why aren't more poor folks pro-2A?

I think personal responsibility come into play also, getting an education and getting a job and taking care of yourself and your family requires personal responsibility, owning and especially carrying a gun requires personal responsibility. For some the belief that it's the government's job to feed...
