Re: What would you do

Assuming that I were a bystander who does not have the physical skills to deal with the attacker, the options of what to do come with serious risks. Given the viciousness of the the attack, the outcome of drawing and pointing a gun at the attacker is unpredictable. He has already gone into a fit of ...

Re: Three Forks in Dallas - posted?

Rule #4 on this forum deals with the promotion of illegal activity. I try to live by its opposite - the promotion of legal activity.. I'm fine with "don't ask, don't tell" in places with non-compliant signs. I realize that I'm under no obligation to verify the existence of signs prohibitin...

Re: Three Forks in Dallas - posted?

The person who answered the phone freaked out over being asked about a gun policy . I do not accept, as the fellow calling Three Forks did not accept the certainty that Three Forks is NOT posted, based on the fact that they are a high end restaurant, especially with the initial phone response . The...

Re: Three Forks in Dallas - posted?

Most medical facilities are posted. Most colleges that are private have opted-out. The zoos in DFW are anti-gun. What in the world does that have to do with a restaurant? I'm not planning on an expensive meal at any of these. This is the equivalent of saying thugs shoot people, so anyone that carri...

Re: Three Forks in Dallas - posted?

I think you would find that high end restaurants have clientele that are more likely to carry than your average citizen of Texas, especially of people in urban areas. For example, Highland Park which is arguably the most elite of DFW neighborhoods, would be the amongst the most conservative in the ...

Re: Three Forks in Dallas - posted?

#1 - I'm not sure why someone would expect them to be posted. There are a number of similar upscale restaurants in DFW and I don't recall any of them being posted. #2- I can't fathom any reason why someone would call any business and inquire if they are posted or not, this just seems so counterintu...

Re: College Professor Freaks Out

And this idiot is a prof? What in the heck is he teaching our kids? He must be an old hippie with a grudge. :banghead: He is no different than many other younger professors. The head of the statistics department at UT Arlington was asked to lead a public forum on campus carry before the bill didn't...

Thanks. That is what I was looking for - first hand experience. I doubt that things have changed and have sent your information to the fellow asking the question.

Re: Three Forks in Dallas - posted?

We shop at Central Market where we can carry. Buy a nice steak, eat at home with better wine at 1/10 the cost. You are welcome to join us anytime! As I said in my OP, I'm not a Three Forks kinda guy. Someone posted about it on another forum that I belong to and I jumped in when he said that he was ...

Re: Three Forks in Dallas - posted?

I eat out a lot, around the Houston - Galveston and in the Hill Country area. At lots of fine dining places, and greasy spoons also. I've never seen a 30.0x sighn at an eating establishment. Is it common to see anti-gun restaurants in the Dallas area, or is there something special about Three Forks...

Re: California Secession? Don't let the door hit you on the way out!

One of more than 100 underlying questions is: Would California as it exists today become the separate country? There is major geography in CA that is no happier with the Blue coast dominance than the rest of us are. There have been several proposals to break CA apart into separate States. While I'm ...

Three Forks in Dallas - posted?

Three Forks restaurant in Dallas does not show up in Texas3006.com. I cannot imagine a place like that not at least posting a 30.07 sign. Someone I know called them about their gun policy and apparently the 18 yr old hostess who answered the phone freaked out. I've recommended that asking questions ...

Re: Location of signs at movie theater

Some places seem to believe that "close enough is good enough" regarding their requirements to prevent carrying. I wonder how many places post to appease the gun fearing people, or insurance companies, or, or... but really don't care if you carry? My work is posted with only a gun buster ...

Re: Location of signs at movie theater

When I arrived, I looked, I mean actually looked, for a 30-06 sign. The thing is not only was the sign so far away from the ticket booth and the right hand entrance, but the building even curves, adding to the inability to see it even more. Oh well. One of the medical buildings that my wife has to ...
