Re: Recent comments from the NRA

Afer all the gun control laws passed in all the citys, states, and countries, you'd think someone would have noticed if they had reduced crime! Rebecca Peters constantly quoted statistics during her 2004 debate with Wayne LaPierre in London. Every statistic that she cited to support global small ar...

4 is good. Alabama and Washington are my primary concerns. I don't think I'll be traveling to Minnesota or Ohio any time soon, but you never know.

Utah Permit to Cover Additional States

I see there's a list of certified firearms instructors in Texas for a Utah permit on Utah's DPS site. http://bci.utah.gov/CFP/insoutstate.pdf Does anyone recommend any of these instructors? (Texas is on page 6) I live in Corpus Christi, so I'd have to make a bit of a drive to get instruction from an...

I've tried 'em, but found they don't do me much good.

I normally only load 5 rounds at a time while practicing, occasionally 10, seldom the whole 15. I only slow down on the last two or three rounds. The rest feed plenty quickly with just my left thumb and right index-finger and thumb.

Good looking dogs, guys! Our dog died about a month ago. Old age got him. He was half Dachshund and half Feist. He looked like a really tall solid black dachshund. He was one of those that would bark at a stranger while running away in reverse. Since then I've been trying to get my wife to get anoth...

The same principle holds true for my "escrima" sticks. It is lawful to have them with me as long as I am traveling to or from the Dojo or am engaged in some other (lawful) activity where I need them. But, if left in my vehicle the rest of the week, some over zealous LEO could cite me for ...

See, you're trying to argue this with logic. That's just not fair. It's government. State government, at that. Logic does not always apply. Maybe i'm still paranoid from living in California for so long. Well, there have been a lot of Californians moving here in recent years. Maybe your paran...

Client was very shacken up, not because of the actual accident, but all of the police and equipment. Ended by taking him to a nice lunch and dulling some of his nervousness. He hasn't been back since, and most likely thinks were crazy. Hehehe. His trip to Texas was quite eventful! He will f...

OK. Granted.

I'll be more specific then.

Freedom from fear of predators.

Freedom to choose to protect myself and my family.

Freedom to choose not to be a victim.

After all, freedom is the whole point of carrying, isn't it? Not for me. I am not making a statement by carrying. I carry for protection, plain and simple. You guys are looking at the open carry from the view point of YOUR ability to open carry, but for the sake of conversation let's take a differe...
