About 6 weeks is what I'm hearing but a couple of students have told me they received their plastic in just under 4 weeks...for what it's worth.

Re: Open Carry and the Police
I like the idea of OCing while getting fuel..close to the car, shouldn't take to long, just right. My thought is there WILL be people who OC, of course this is obvious but who better for the cops or public to interact with than one of us? I'd argue that most of us on this forum would be prudent and ...

Re: Open Carry and the Police
On the contrary I do plan on carrying my handgun openly and have even picked out my retention holster, a Model 7367 7TS™ ALS®/SLS Concealment Belt Slide Holster. It's advertised as concealable but only if your 18 foot tall and weigh 2 tons... The first reason is because if I'm going to tea...

Re: Body Armor-What's your take?
We had an incident where a ND struck a side partition; funny thing is BA would not have made much difference but it did make me think.. I'm looking for lightwieght for sure, something that will stop most common pistol rounds. I haven't really considered wearing it everyday but never say never. Thank...

Re: My First IDPA match with my Shield 9
Congratulations on your IDPA matches. As time goes on you will get more confidence and proficiency. It will never be the same if a problem arises, but it is still teaching one to perform under stress. I think it is good training and lots of fun. I take my CHL and the responsibilty to myself & t...

Body Armor-What's your take?
I have worked on a gun range for a few years and just recently started to consider purchasing body armor and wanted to know what y'all's thoughts are? Have you owned or wore it before? What type and brand would you recommend? How much can one expect to spend? Lastly, my initial purpose would be for ...

Re: Wally Walk completed
Call me crazy but don't call the cops..I'll sometimes imagine how to car jack someone or steal a purse or something-something along those lines, play the bad guy if you will. In my opinion it's all about getting close to someone, someone not paying attention.

Re: Huffines Amendment Question
2. Most police officers "that I know" are definitely pro-2A and this amendment insulted their intelligence. Really? On what data are you basing this statement? From what I've read on the subject of OC, the police unions were squealing like a pig under a gate (no pun intended) to keep the ...

Re: Huffines Amendment Question
Looks like this is a moot question related to HB 910 now based on the latest news I'm seeing, but I still have the question. And sorry, this may be a little rambling, but age tends to do that to me sometimes. So please forgive my wanderings, but I am trying to get to a point. And also, I may be wro...

Re: HB 910 Conference Committee
Some members here say they will hardly ever open carry and it really is up to them come Jan. 1st 2016. I myself will open carry on my days off. I open carried as a Texas commissioned security officer for the past 20 yrs . I would like to think that I was very careful about constantly being aware of...
