Re: Joining the CZ Club

What's to recommend them over Glocks? No, I'm not being argumentative. I'm in the market for a new pistol. Currently, I'm looking at the Ruger American Pistol in 9mm. It's a big old honker, but I'm not averse to carrying a big pistol. I have no desire to carry a wee .380... If CZ is superior, I'm o...

Does anyone else find it ironic that the code literally states that "Firearm does not include...........an antique or curio firearm"

Re: Can 560 be resurrected?

It wouldn't surprise me if the monument protection bill also got thrown into the special session. After NOLA and with the current attack on Sam Houston's statue, it's getting some press.

Gun bills..........see you in 2 years.

Re: HB435 Volunteer Emergency Svces Carrying

Honestly, objecting to this bill due to "carve outs" for certain people seems like opposing open carry for LTC because it isn't constitutional carry. Every one of us with an LTC benefits from a "carve out", yet none of us are opposed having one. Everyone that had a CHL benefited...

Re: Did we get shut out this year

Didn't mean to imply that Texas in not trending left. No doubt it is and it's closer than most people think it is. Just going by results in statewide elections (president, Governor, and US Senate) we appear to be at more like 8-10%. The underlying point is still valid. Were not going to get redder. ...

Re: Did we get shut out this year

I would not be shocked if in 2-4 years Texas becomes purple State, and within next 10 years, a leaning Blue State. Look at shift in demogragichs and inflow of Libs from Commie States. That is precisely why we needed more offensive and aggressive pro-Liberty results in this session. I keep repeating...

Re: HB 560 - Holy Grail?

They didn't vote on the floor. That's true. But Beruity proposed asking each candidate at election time if they would co-author or sponsor a bill similar to HB 560. I think that is unnecessary and possibly misleading. What politicians say to get our votes doesn't always match what they do in office...

Re: HB1911 Com Substitute and HB560

If I were a betting man, I would bet on CSHB1911 dying in calendars. I think (at best) we will see church security teams and a reduction in LTC fees. This session will go down as one of the least productive in decades as it relates to expansion of 2a rights. Supermajority my hind end........ :bangh...

I've got some older mags with worn out followers that I could donate to this campaign. Need to make sure there are no laws against shipping to someone in NY.

Re: What is status Restoration of Gun Rights in Austin?

While I'm frustrated with the inaction on gun rights, one thing I love about Texas is the SHORT legislative sessions every two years. No one's life, liberty, or property are safe while the Legislature is in session. Wish we could pay Congress to go home for 18 months of every Congress. :evil2: :iag...

Re: HB1911 Com Substitute

So is there enough support/time for 1911 to pass? I'm predicting death in the Calendars Committee, but I am no where near the know, let alone in it. I called this a couple of weeks ago. Charles called it before the session even started. There isn't a lot of incentive for lawmakers to pass permit-le...

Re: HB1911 Com Substitute

In their newsletter today, Austin FFL Central Texas Gun Works writes: HB375 and HB1911 are stalled in various committees. Neither bill is likely to advance to House or Senate floor votes before session ends The owner is active in testifying/lobbying for gun bills, but I don't know if the above is j...

Re: SB 16 - priority bill, reduction of LTC fees

Newspaper article this morning about SB-16 stating that this bill will "strip" millions of dollars from state education funding because of reducing LTC fees. Hmmmm, thought I paid a substantial amount in taxes that fund education/ Why should a DPS licensing program fund other state agenci...

Re: Taco Cabana Open Carry

My thoughts are starting to evolve on signs like this one. When OC first passed, I was really offended by the actions of a few large chains, Whataburger being one of them, who immediately stated that they would ban OC. They made these announcements as much as 6 months in advance, with no evidence w...
