Re: Chicago Airport....

While Roy might appear to be right, people in exactly your wife's situation who took their luggage with a gun in it have been arrested in gun hostile jurisdictions. TAM's advice is right on. Don't take the luggage. Leave it with the airline until your wife and the luggage gets on a flight home. AFA...

Re: Texas JP Court Judge Makes National News

This is one of the reasons why I stay out of H-town as much as I can (quoted from article)

He pointed out that many of the accusations had long been public, and yet voters overwhelmingly reelected Green as a Harris County justice of the peace.

That's why I leave this number: (713) 541-5372 Planned Parenthood. I suppose one could use Mad Mommy's or a favorite Democratic Legislator. When an address as requested I use 9800 Savage Rd., Suite 6272 Ft. George G. Meade, MD 20755-6000 If a phone number as requested I use 301-688-6524 Go ahead Go...

Re: This Texting While Driving is really starting to get to me!

This issue is personal to me. In September of last year, my daughter and granddaughter were rear ended by someone who was (admittedly) texting. The lady who hit her and her 14 year old child special needs child were both life flighted from the scene. Four months later (January of this year), my wif...

Re: One in the pipe for newbies like me

The fact is that so much training is expensive, far away and time consuming that it loses priority to many folks. Many ranges discourage drawing from a holster and rapid fire. I agree with everything you said up until this sentence. Dry firing is cheap, blue guns that are exactly like your gun are ...

Re: HB 560 - Holy Grail?

I won 't be a criminal. The supreme law of the land is clear. The SCOTUS decides what is the "supreme law of the land" and it has stated in dicta that license requirements are constitutional. That said, stop violating Rule 4. Chas. I'm going off topic here, but wanted to broaden my unders...

Re: HB 560 - Holy Grail?

The only way to pursue "constitutional carry" is with the bill I've already written for 2019. It 1) moves all of TPC §46.035 to §46.03 so as to apply it to unlicensed carry; 2) renders LTC exempt from not only TPC §46.02, but §46.03 as well; and 3) makes anyone who can lawfully possess fi...

Re: Joining the CZ Club

What's to recommend them over Glocks? No, I'm not being argumentative. I'm in the market for a new pistol. Currently, I'm looking at the Ruger American Pistol in 9mm. It's a big old honker, but I'm not averse to carrying a big pistol. I have no desire to carry a wee .380... If CZ is superior, I'm o...

It wouldn't surprise me if the monument protection bill also got thrown into the special session. After NOLA and with the current attack on Sam Houston's statue, it's getting some press.

Gun bills..........see you in 2 years.

Re: HB435 Volunteer Emergency Svces Carrying

Honestly, objecting to this bill due to "carve outs" for certain people seems like opposing open carry for LTC because it isn't constitutional carry. Every one of us with an LTC benefits from a "carve out", yet none of us are opposed having one. Everyone that had a CHL benefited...

Re: Did we get shut out this year

Didn't mean to imply that Texas in not trending left. No doubt it is and it's closer than most people think it is. Just going by results in statewide elections (president, Governor, and US Senate) we appear to be at more like 8-10%. The underlying point is still valid. Were not going to get redder. ...
