Re: Barrel length, ammo, and choke for HD Shotguns

Interesting that they did not test Federal Flight Control rounds, which are specifically designed for holding tight patterns even at distances of 15 yards and above. With my Mossberg 500, 18.5 ", cylinder bore, at 25 yards, the FFC, holds to within a 6 inch pattern. There is no where in my hou...

Don't overlook the idea of putting a 22lr conversion on your 1911.

I have a Kimber conversion on one of my 1911 frames and it is the most fun to shoot pistol I own. It's more accurate than I am.

Re: Big 45 Metal Cleaner for rust

As long as it's very light rust spots, you can get it off with a patch soaked in gun oil.

I did that several years ago on my father's 1959 Browning Sweet Sixteen. It wasn't hard and, like your case, all the rust spots disappeared without leaving a blemish.

Re: Invited into a neighbor's home. Can I carry?

At the risk of taking this one off topic, I would be very uncomfortable at a range. The range part of my LTC class was very unnerving as I had never shot in a line with other shooters and the percussion from the person on either side of me was very unsettling. I used to go to a range (same one with...

NJ Democratic Strategist Launches Campaign to #HuntRepublicans

Just when you think Democrats couldn’t get any more despicable, they pull a stunt like this. Following the GOP Congressional shooting which left Representative Steve Scalise in critical condition and wounded four other people, the unity we saw between the two political parties at the Congressional ...

Re: LTC, CHL. CHP...which is it in Texas?

I have had my CHL for years. To me its its "CHL" I see LTC mentioned alot. So what is the current common designation or are there differences? Next time you renew, you will receive a LTC (License to Carry Handgun) instead of a CHL (Concealed Handgun License). The name change went into eff...

Re: NRA Doesn't Allow 1911's at New Classes

I am not interested in any "training" that prohibits 1911s. A class that prohibits any proven combat firearm is a non-starter in my book.

Re: Just became a resident, non-resident CHL?

That confuses a lot of people. (a) The department by rule shall establish a procedure for a person who meets the eligibility requirements of this subchapter other than the residency requirement established by Section 411.172(a)(1) to obtain a license under this subchapter if the person is a legal re...
