Re: Almost had a ND

at nearly 64 years old I am still waiting for my first ND. Though way back in 1975 I was sitting next to a friend of mine when he had one. It was at the Royal Military Academy - we had just returned from the range with our private weapons (that was what we did on Wednesday sports afternoons instead...

Re: Tough one - loose dog - their property

Here's the situation. I live in a Texas subdivision that has community mailboxes. The mailbox for my house is down a few houses from mine. On several occasions, the resident of that house allows their large (pitbull like) dog to run freely in the front yard or from the curb to the home. On 2 occasi...

Re: RV traveling in TX, legal way to carry gun ?

Basically it comes under two different laws, unless you have a concealed carry license from another state. Texas honors all other state licenses. 1. MPA - Motorist Protection act. Loaded inside a vehicle out of sight is legal, as long as no prohibited persons have access to it. Without a CCL, you ha...

Re: How do you like my new signature line?

Too bad that as a non-resident of Texas I can't apply pressure to any State Rep. without lying to them. And I refuse to lie.
If anyone knows how I can do so without violating law or ethics, I would be quite happy to hear how.

Re: Received incorrect information during LTC renewal process...

I had a Lowe's cashier ask me if I was a veteran last night. Had to tell her no. Just missed the Vietnam Debacle.
Asked if they had one for former LEO's, as I would qualify for that one. She said no.

No discounts.

Later. :evil2:

Re: 51% Sign Posted, but TABC License calls for Blue Sign

This post stayed idle for 4 months. I brought it back to life with an update to report that another sign had come down, and it was now legal for license holders to carry in another business. But, the comments that have been added since my report are just continuing an argument about the TABC. I gue...

Re: 51% Sign Posted, but TABC License calls for Blue Sign

A recommendation: Do report them to TABC ( https://www.tabc.state.tx.us/enforcement/complain_about_a_location.asp ), but when you complete the form make no mention of your 2A rights or LTC issues. Simply state that the facility has the red 51% sign posted and, based on your search of TABC records, ...

Re: American Airlines Center vs. Conceal Carry

AAC is actually not owned by the city. Incorrect. http://www.dallascad.org/AcctDetailCom.aspx?ID=000394000A0010000" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Click image for larger version. AAC.jpg That's good, it changed. I researched this a while back and then it was owned by Center...

Re: Other Side of the River

In Oklahoma, there must also be government employees conducting government business. Just being owned by the government is not enough. Of course that still makes nearly all such building off limits.

Re: Realization comes home - always carry. Even at home.

I have one with me when I carry the trash to the curb for pickup. I mostly have one within arm's reach or closer when meandering around the house. Been having one on me or handy for 38 years and still haven't needed one yet. I hope to keep extending that record and still be ready to end it if necess...

Re: Warning -- Please read!!!

As I remember, you had no hesitancy in "Slapping me upside the head" not long after I joined this board. It resulted in a civil, though serious discussion between us.

The one time I violated that agreement somewhat later, quite soon after I posted, I deleted my own post as inappropriate.
