Re: Now this is the reason why I carry

To the OP, thank you for relating this experience. I love the opportunity to put myself in a situation and think about what I might do. Other questions might be where I would be standing when I challenged the people harassing the woman? Am I backed up against my vehicle or the gas hose so I can't m...

Re: Now this is the reason why I carry

Excellent job on your part, sir, all the way around. I know we all probably want to not HAVE to get involved, but sometimes our hand may be forced. Thugs can be such downers. Thank the Lord that it worked out well. I can’t think of anything I’d have done different, except (because I’m old and slow)...

Re: In your home with workmen present

I seldom carry in my home, but when we have someone in to work on the A/C or whatnot I will. I remember one of my dogs really reacted to one worker, my dogs are corgis, they like pretty much everyone, but this one guy had my little one growling, I left the guy outside "to put the dogs up" ...

Re: police/deputies/sherrifs and private communities

this is why I keep telling our community, you DON'T want gates. It wouldn't work for ours anyway, but gates cause nothing but expense and trouble. when you have gates, you own the roads, like was mentioned above, your HOA is the basically the property owner, they can't just come on private property ...

it would be interesting to see what happens about him. I think there probably ought to be something....I'm not sure what, but something. A CHL isn't a badge.

Re: According to reports: Samaritan Helps Stop Chase

I didn't know the chase continued for another hour after the guy shot the tires. I watched it for a little while and decided the shooter had missed....went, showered my MIL and myself, ate, and they still hadn't caught the guy when I was finished and had to leave the house....I caught the "cat...

Re: According to reports: Samaritan Helps Stop Chase

I was actually watching this when the guy did it. He was an idiot, he'd apparently been watching the chase on tv. The BG had pulled into a dead end drive and had pulled a toolbox out of the bed of the truck....the was after OKC police had dropped back and before Moore City police picked up the chase...

Re: TX: Schertz man shoots burglar

I believe the second link I provided says the owner usually shows up early, and had already been the victim of previous burglaries. oh, I wasn't I wasn't saying anything about the arriving thing, other than it was early....I've actually seen people washing their cars their at o-dark-thirty if you c...

Re: TX: Schertz man shoots burglar

this happened roughly 2 miles from me, I don't like that.

in the first reports the owner was "driving past" the place....at 5am....seemed a bit weird

they later updated it to the owner "arrived" to the car wash....still early, but ok.

Re: Special Church Security Program in Plano - Dec. 5

I hope that this spreads and that small churches who cannot afford to hire off duty policemen or private security firms can be helped in protecting their congregations. The legislature needs to take this up again in 2019 and recognize that the private security lobby is only interested in their own ...
