Re: Where to begin with a HAM radio?

Here's an example of next-level use for your HAM skills.. From ARRL.... Looking for volunteers to support Red Cross efforts in Puerto Rico. Must be General class or above... Dear ARRL Member: There are few times when I have needed to reach out directly to you for your help. This is one of those time...

Re: Shoot Point Blank in NRH opening Wednesday 9/27/17

Nice... Will definitely stop by soon to check out the facilities. Best thing I saw on your web site was the $5 for second shooter cost. I always thought it was exorbitant to charge 50% or more for a second shooter. You might want to mention (on the web site) how long your ranges are... especially fo...

Re: Carry gun in Big bend

I know you can't carry into the lodge at Yellowstone since it's run by the national park service. But the lodge at Big Bend appears to be run by a private company. So, maybe. Maybe call them and ask them? Forever Resorts is an authorized concessioner of the National Park Service and state and public...

Re: Photobucket ruined the internet

Well now for some good news. The photos are not completely lost, they still can be accessed directly on Photobucket's site. This assumes that the account is still active. You can copy the URL to the picture and then paste it in your address bar and it will take you directly to the image. As a bonus...

Re: Need help teaching wife to shoot

If I may... She is scared... Go get a nice little .22lr pistol and let her start out with that.. Maybe graduate to a nice .38 spl later on. Have her dry fire a couple of times and you will be able to tell if she is anticipating the shot. I start out any new shooter on a 22 if I can. I have taken th...

Re: need an FFL close to Grapevine Texas,

My local guy in Keller is still charging $10 for LTC holders.
He's a kitchen - table guy. Very easy to transact, but you can't be in a rush since he has to work around his full time job.

I stay out of conversations where the person asking for knowledge appears to be lying or puffing themselves up.

Re: Another vehicle question

I always found it easier to remove the gun and leave the holster installed in my pants when I had to go into Sprouts or some other 30.06 place to fetch something for SWMBO. I'd say go with whatever is most comfortable for you and take proper procedural precautions if unholstering/reholster...

Re: FL to TX CCW - Different State Requirements

I carried here on my FL license for quite a while, due to laziness and cost. Now that a TX LTC is much cheaper, cost is a non-factor. If I was in the OP's situation, I would carry on my FL license with barely a second thought. My only small worry would be school zones, which are only exempted ...

Re: TxCHLForum Express???

As I posted in another posting on this forum a few minutes ago ( viewtopic.php?f=83&t=89631&p=1168495#p1168495 ), I have to get six small boxes from the west end of Houston to the Frisco area. These are CoolCop units donated by my daughter (via a gift from RoyGBiv on this forum) for six of ...
