Yeah, Clint Eastwood.

Wow. A blast from the past. I got to shoot a .44 Auto Mag exactly once, in the late 80s. It was a hoot to shoot, but it was one of those rare firearms I never thought about owning. Can you even get ammo for 'em any longer?

The Ruger Mk44??

Nice little nugget to find in here. This makes sense. Good to know.

This post was awesome. I love watching a problem solving mind at work.

Re: Hearing Protection Act of 2017

From Michael McCaul: "February 17, 2017 Dear Mr. Goose: Thank you for contacting me regarding H.R. 367, the Hearing Protection Act. I appreciate the benefit of having your views on this matter. As you may know, H.R. 367 was introduced by Representative Jeff Duncan (SC-03) on January 9, 2017. If...

Re: I have something to say

Elitism is a problem with just about any "club" we join. Some skeet and trap shooters only like certain scatter guns. Some cyclists want to judge what bike you ride. Some guitarists want to judge which axe you use. Some drivers want to judge which car you have. Some people want to judge wh...

Re: Thoughts on a NAA .22 Mag

NAA owner here. You can see a picture of my rig in the EDC thread. My caveats: I do know a man in Las Vegas that used his NAA in 22WMR to fight off a man with a .45 at bad breath distance. The .45 owner's arm was displaced to move the muzzle away from the friend of the family. The friend of the fami...

Re: LTC individual has ND at Houston Galleria

I believe that carrying in a backpack makes the weapon practically inaccessible without removing the backpack and then opening it up before withdrawing the weapon. A courier satchel, purse or belly pouch is comparatively accessible and a lot faster. ( I understand that my "irrelevant" rem...

Re: LTC individual has ND at Houston Galleria

Actually, I believe it does. Most of us wouldn't consider carrying while unloaded. but carrying a handgun in a back pack is transporting it. You wouldn't ship a gun loaded or transport to the hunt lease a hunting rifle loaded. Carrying a weapon in a back pack isn't really the same as packing a conce...

Re: LTC individual has ND at Houston Galleria

Questioning the safety of a round in the chamber has been discussed on this site to the point of :deadhorse: If you don't think its safe --don't do it, but please don't question others personal decision. Failing to secure the firearm properly was the issue. Actually, I believe it does. Most of us w...

Re: LTC individual has ND at Houston Galleria

I'm picturing a guy whose vanity won't allow him to wear anything besides skinny jeans and emo pants, and his little brother's shirts. "I'll just put the gun in my book bag, and then I don't need to waste money on a stupid holster instead of some really great eye shadow and black nail polish.....

Re: LTC individual has ND at Houston Galleria

Like others, I am going to guess that there were sharpies or ball point pens or other junk that came out with the pistol and when they hit the ground, he won the stupid lottery and all the pieces fell perfectly to depress the trigger. I have no issue with a pistol in a backpack (provided you can kee...

Re: Research Help Needed!

I am struggling my way through the dissent. And I am concerned with my own cognative bias, because he seems to be hitting an incredible number of legal points with case law to back his views up. I wouldn't want him to be my father-in-law, but I'd always want him to be my judge.

Re: Research Help Needed!

Dang. If a County Commissioner and otherwise upstanding individual isn't protected by the 30.06 law, we may want to rethink some of our "no one will take a ride" comments. Granted it is a single case, but it may show precedence that the next judge would hesitate to go against. Was it: Ride...
