Short answer is that is because they aren't carrying under the CHL statue.

Re: 1911 Condition 1 carry
Is there any other way to carry? My 1911 is cocked, locked, and loaded 24/7. No reason to give yourself something else to think about when you need to use it.

Re: Failure to Conceal?
When a third party is acting under this law they are not acting under CC laws. Rather they are acting on my behalf on my property as if it were me and they have the same rights that I do in regards to this. Also the CC laws in this state only speak to handguns, nothing in the law says anything about...

Re: Failure to Conceal?
Both Charles Cotton & Steve Rothstein have told you that you are incorrect. Lawyer that has written most of the CC legislation for Texas & one of the most knowledgable LEOs on the board. What are your cradentials for arguing as you do??? Because I know the law also, and my argument is not a...

Re: Failure to Conceal?
Attorney or not Charles is off course with his post. It is a legally accepted principal that any right I have on my property I can extend to my guest at my discretion. And the CHL law is not all encompassing. It only applies when one is carrying under it, and just possessing a CHL does not mean you...

Re: Failure to Conceal?
Your right and wrong at the same time. The CHL law is clear. But it what is not in that section of the law and must be found elsewhere is property owners rights. A private property owner has every right to give someone permission to openly carry on his or her own property. And in this event the CHL...

Re: Failure to Conceal?
Actually yes it does. Lets look at a couple of examples: Scenario 1 So you are at your buddies home one day for a visit. During the visit you two converse about firearms. And at some point during the conversation your buddy ask to see your EDC. So you do what you are supposed to and and unload the ...

Re: Failure to Conceal?
The chance of being caught doesn't change the legality or illegality of the act. Getting drunk at a friend's house while carrying under the authority of your CHL doesn't become legal simply because nobody there will call the cops. Actually yes it does. Lets look at a couple of examples: Scenario 1 ...

Steel cased ammunition is not bad. The steel has never been a problem rather the coating on the case and the primers are what has caused the problems of the past.psijac wrote:This may be a stupid question: if steel case ammo is so bad why do they keep making the stuff?

Re: Failure to Conceal?
Look it is this simple. If you are in a friendly environment (your home, friends home, private venue with people whom you know) then a little show and tell is a non-issue. The people around you probably already know that you carry and should be good with that. However when out and about in a unfrien...

Re: Suggestions for AR10 .308
TAM I not trying to discourage the OP, but his original stated budget of $700 simply will not work. And when speaking of a and AR type platform one thing some does not want to do is go cheap, especially when speaking of large frame ARs. A bolt action rifle is a much simpler device and can tolerate a...

Re: Suggestions for AR10 .308
For a large frame AR you are going to spend some money. Nothing about them is cheap. My DPMS in it's original 308 setup cost me about $1800 to build, this price includes tools and extra magazines. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j194/M70SS/Guns/DSC_0170.jpg And as it sits now, a 6.5 Credmoor with ...
