I have good experience with Liberty and Champion.
I was told the guy doing Champion was the same person that started Fort Knox and then sold it and started the Champion company.

Re: Amateur Radio vs. HOA
Thanks John. Yes, I've been following HR 555; however, not sure how many problems it will actually solve. (1) require any licensee in an amateur radio service to notify and obtain prior approval from a community association concerning installation of an outdoor antenna; (2) permit a community associ...

Amateur Radio vs. HOA
Well... had this great idea to put up a vertical antenna and get back on the air a little more since moving down here. Had already planned out most of my equipment and how to get the rest of my gear down here from Illinois. But now... reading the deed restrictions this morning and I come along this ...

Re: Arrl field day for those interested in ham radio
Had a contact with the Virgin Islands this morning. Hit Puerto Rico and Panama last night and had several Canada contacts. Overall the bands were cooperative. I was mostly on 15m phone.
Can't say it enough how much fun I had - I was also able to work back to my old clubs in Indiana which was cool.

Re: Arrl field day for those interested in ham radio
If you go to a Field Day site, no license needed to operate on Field Day - you are typically operating under the clubs/treasurers license. So don't let that stop you from getting out and getting on the air. I'm planning to go to my local FD - first time I've been in several years. Hopefully I'll be ...

Never had any issues. Just be sure you know what the going rate for whatever you're looking for is, you see what the seller is charging for shipping, and any additional fees (e.g. credit card).

Re: Engraving Recommendations
http://www.nfainvestments.com He uses a rotary pantograph, and it comes out looking sharp. Nice deep marking that looks like it's supposed to be there. For a "normal" AR lower, I've seen recommendations to get it engraved before filing the Form 1, in case the engraver messes up (or you gi...

Re: OR: Man fined for doing math without a license
Some people don't get the license because they don't do work that requires it and they don't want to go through all of the work to get one. I have never worked in a situation where I needed my license (always worked for an oil/chemical company) but it is an excellent credential to have (never know ...

Re: OR: Man fined for doing math without a license
The problem this guy had was he called himself an engineer while doing work for the public without having a Professional Engineers license. That is a big no-no with the Engineering Board in any State. If you practice engineering for the public, in the state of Texas (and probably every state in the...
