Re: A nice benefit of Texas CHL

That was pretty much my experience when I bought my PX4 at Cabela's last year. All the paperwork took about 25-30 minutes, with a CHL.

My brother (no CHL) had to wait two days for the NCIS check a couple years ago when he was buying (at Academy, I think).

I have had a personal interest in this matter since I work on the campuses of institutions of higher education (public junior college, and private university). In trying to filter out the requirements of SB 11, I have discovered some possible conflicts in the law which I cannot resolve. I have highl...

The penalty for unlawful carry is either a 3d degree felony, or Class A misdemeanor, depending on the circumstances.

Slow for me as well, both desktop and iPad.

I just had jury duty. They said no knives. I didn't argue with them.

Re: Campus Carry at UNT

I recommend googling "white paper". This format is famiiar to upper level executives. The key element in a white paper is that your conclusion or recommendation comes first. Then you support it below that.

Re: Texans Respond to License to Carry

Long article in the Waco Trib today. Very thorough review of the signage requirement without any judgment, just a stating of the law. Some interesting plusses and minuses. The Waco city council has long had a non-compliant gun buster sign for their meetings and they knew it wouldn't stop a CHL, so t...

Re: Gun control would be easy??

I partially agree with some of this to a point. However, to continue the automobile analogy, I do not have to register my car and I do not have to insure it - IF I keep it solely on my private property and never use it in public. I expect there to be some restrictions once I leave my property and go...

Skeet shooting - excellent idea! I haven't done that since I was in the service many moons ago. Thanks!

Re: Dove season coming up...

I inherited my father's shotgun (12ga), and I've never been dove hunting, but I'm itching to try it out. Any suggestions on how to get started?
