Re: Great Article... Charles Cotton, Open Carry
It's actually very simple, if I know that the vast majority fall into a particular group, I don't need to know the number of people that fall outside that group to know that they make up a small portion of the population. Makes perfect sense. That assumes you only have two groups and you can easily...

Re: Great Article... Charles Cotton, Open Carry
If you don't know the number of people, then how can you determine its relative size to anything? Ha! :smilelol5: This is an example of what happens when someone takes a sentence out of context. Read the whole paragraph and the sentence makes perfect sense. I did read the whole paragraph (and artic...

Re: Great Article... Charles Cotton, Open Carry
I'm not trying to diss the article at all because I think it was good overall, but I laughed when I read this line: The number of people falling into this first group is unknown, but it is relatively small in comparison to the total Texas population. If you don't know the number of people, then how ...

Ukrainians jealous of our guns...
I was reading this article and this paragraph jumped out at me: http://www.foxnews.com/world/2014/04/28/facing-crisis-with-russia-ukraine-scrambles-to-get-military-up-to-speed/?intcmp=latestnews “People are very pro-Ukraine and anti-Russian. The west half of Ukraine is patriotic, similar to how most...

Re: This country doesn’t have a chance.
Video games and movies may be a small part of the problem but it's not the root. I've played and still play first person shooter video games and enjoy movies like Rambo. To lay all the blame on movies and games as the cause of violence is just as bad as the anti gunners blaming guns or assault weap...

At about the 5:00 minute mark they did exactly what I was thinking...just take a little sand paper to the pin to sand away the stamp.

Re: Low Profile Gas Block Necessary?
So I'm getting the consensus is to just cut it down...but I'm not supposed to take it off the barrel? Both videos show it taken off the barrel. I was looking at just getting a Troy or Daniel Defense low profile gas block, but I'm good with chopping too. Once I chop, I have to blue it too, correct (l...

Low Profile Gas Block Necessary?
So I have no experience with this so I'm wondering if it's better to swap out a front site on my AR with a low profile gas block, or just chop off the top of the site to make it "low profile"? I ask because I saw someone just chop theirs off and was wondering if that was wise or not. I wan...

Here's a cool site to help you "pre-build" one: http://www.gunstruction.net/ And here's a good DIY AR build link (8 part article w/videos and EVERYTHING listed and linked...tools needed too): http://www.itstactical.com/warcom/firearms/diy-ar-15-build-upper-receiver-assembly-introduction/

Re: AR help
I found this link pretty useful when I was researching for my first AR purchase: http://forums.officer.com/t81462/ I narrowed my options down to BCM ( http://bravocompanymfg.com/index.php ) and DD ( https://danieldefense.com/ )...and ended up with a DD M4V3 (https://danieldefense.com/rifles/mid-leng...

Re: Police raid home due to man's gun tattoo
That said, I think also points out the continuing unnecessary expansion of the use of SWAT teams. Apparently, the call to the PD said a man MAY have threatened them but they are sure, and he MAY have had a gun. In my view, this does not justify a military-like response. I know some of the responses...
