Re: Pellet Pistol

I used to have a Benjamin pump pellet pistol kind of like this one - http://www.crosman.com/airguns/pistols/HB22 - except mine was in .17 caliber. It wasn't a single pump stroke, but the upside was that you could regulate how much velocity you wanted by how many pump strokes you used to charge the ...

Re: As if choosing a holster wasnt hard enough...

I've been using an Alessi APX for my Smith 642 and I'm waiting for another APX for my Sig 938. It is for appendix carry and does NOT require a belt....in fact when I'm wearing a belt, the clip goes under the belt. It's made of very thin leather and the clip is offset so as to minimize the thickness...

Re: Walther PK380 and Glock 42

If you will consider a 9mm, I would suggest you check out the Sig P938. I have a Rosewood model with both 6 and 7 round magazines. It is very easy to rack the slide.....easiest of any 9's I've tried. The recoil is relatively soft too. It fits my hand great and has very good night sights. I carry it ...

Re: S&W 60 38 Special (BUG)

I have a later .357 caliber Model 60 snubby. It is a very nice shooting and carrying revolver. Amazing single action trigger that is also quite nice in double action.

GLWS!!

Re: Looking for a small 9mm

I have owned a Kahr CM9, and now have a SIG 938. The Kahr is probably more concealable (though not by much), but is DAO and has snappy recoil and stiff spring for slide racking. The SIG feels better in my hand, noticeably softer recoil, easier slide to rack. I'm an older guy so recoil and racking ar...

Re: Ruger SR22

We have a Ruger SR22 and the comment about unreliable ammo is right on target. It is a nice target/plinking pistol but only a last resort for SD in my opinion. I have a SIG P938 and it is very easy to shoot and easy on the hand. Almost the same size as the P238. Racking the slide on the P938 is the ...

Re: Opthamologist vs. Optometrist Astounding Findings!

I also had the vitreous detachment, but it turned out to be more serious. The vitreous also started to detach my retina (apparently this only happens to a small percentage of people). My ophthalmologist sent me (the same day) to a retina specialist and I was in surgery that evening. Once the retina ...

Re: Alessi Holster experience

I did order an APX for my P938. Alessi is quoting a 4 month wait, so I should see it in March. A long wait but I'm sure it will be worth it. I was able to find a new owner for the Talon from my K9. It's good to see that Alessi's business must be doing well based on the wait. They make an outstanding...

Re: Austin ranges w/ rental guns?

Don't forget Red's South range. They also have rentals and not exactly the same as the North location. When I wanted to try the Sig P938, the South location had one in rental but the North did not. You can check their website for listings, but a phone call will make sure they have what you want to t...
