Re: Federal Judge blocks CA magazine ban
If anyone knows the answer to this, can someone please explain how this new California magazine law is not considered an "ex post facto" law? I thought that those types of laws were not Constitutional. In my thinking, that is why this law is different than the previous California magazine...

Re: Dilemma - Car breaks down on way to work
I agree on the lockbox in the trunk. My car has tie-down points on either side of the trunk which work great for a cable and also has a little built in bucket on each side. Of course, I also have a valet key that I could leave with the shop so they couldn't even access the trunk at all.

Re: Federal Judge blocks CA magazine ban
I'm guessing that this decision will be overturned (and the ban reinstated) by the 9th circuit if it even gets that far. I think it might be a good thing if this gets to the current SCOTUS. If that happens, there is a decent chance that we could see some limits on the ability of states to regulate l...

Re: HB 560 - Holy Grail?
Let's not forget that we currently have constitutional carry. The only topics for debate are how and where carry should be restricted for LTC as well as non-LTC holders. Currently constitutional carry in Texas allows an unlicensed person to carry a handgun in their home, in a business or other locat...

Re: Problematic 06/07 Posting
Remember folks, different rules apply to the owner of an establishment versus another when it comes to carrying a firearm at that establishment. IIRC I understand that, but in this case, I'm assuming that the café owner does not own the racetrack. So could he (or she) carry on the premises of a rac...

Re: Problematic 06/07 Posting
Am I missing something here? Doesn't PC 46.03 (a) (4) trump all and prohibit "a firearm ... on the premises of a racetrack"? http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/Docs/PE/htm/PE.46.htm Sec. 46.03. PLACES WEAPONS PROHIBITED. (a) A person commits an offense if the person intentionally, know...

Or as I like to say. There are days when it is easy to see why humans are on the top of the food chain. And then there are days when you read stories like this one.Scott B. wrote:Just when you think people can't get any dumber...the internet is there to prove you wrong.

it is too bad that groups only post information on facebook, guess they do not realize or care that many people who would attend refuse to use it There are 2 billion FB users... that is roughly 1/4 of the planet, and in North America there are 234 million FB accounts out of a total US and Canada po...

Unless that book had a solid steel plate inside it, I am going to say that no one can be this stupid. She should have claimed that she thought the gun was unloaded.

Re: Civilian who shot suspect fleeing from police arrested
A few, thankfully very few, think having an LTC officially establishes them as an adjunct of Law Enforcement. It doesn't and one of the reasons I think idiotic LTC badges should be ridiculed into non-existence. The few, the proud, the stupid, who're think holding an LTC is something akin to being a...

If it is a private sale then shipping can be done direct, it need not go to a FFL. What service? UPS? I believe you can ship via both UPS and Fed Ex, just not USPS. I also believe that you are required by law to inform the shipper that you are shipping a handgun. Both UPS and Fed Ex prefer (per the...

Re: WA: Convenience store owner gets 8 years for shooting fleeing perp
I worked at a 7-11 back in the mid-70's - part of the training drilled into us was that nothing in the store was worth loosing your life over. Give robbers whatever they wanted without any provocation. Not my personal story, but funny nonetheless. My brother was working as a clerk in a 7-11 along w...

Not sure about the OP, but some of us are subject to random searches... Makes for some potential high stakes gambling on a daily basis. :mad5 If they terminate your employment for that very reason, just think of the backpay and maybe punitive damages you may get. :tiphat: Good luck proving that in ...

Re: Team Building Ideas
A group at my company actually went skeet shooting as part of a multi-day training event, in Europe. And my company is very anti-gun (we even have cute little "no guns" signs on the building). So I wouldn't give up all hope of getting it sponsored. As far as logistics, it sounds pretty str...
