Re: 2019 New LTC Processing Timeline...
Well, shoot, got my calendar mixed up. i applied on the 11th. Not sure why my iPhone notes say the 13th. Still, 11th to the 15th, reasonably quick, if the license is really already on the way.

Re: 2019 New LTC Processing Timeline...
Renewal submitted on Friday the 13th, December. There is a tradition in that. My first license arrived on a Friday the 13th. Today, 12/15, the status page has gone away, which the web site says happens after the license has been renewed. My guess, somebody took a look at my record, how I come to a f...

Re: 2019 New LTC Processing Timeline...
Here's hoping for smooth sailing. My original application got derailed when attachments got lost at DPS. The application wasn't flagged as needing anything because everything had gotten sent. When the required documentation got separated from the application, it wouldn't move forward and also didn't...

Re: Houston Man playing with gun shoots himself
I have to say that in my entire life, pointing any weapon, even if unloaded, at myself is contrary to every ounce of common sense in my being. I just flat out can't do it. No way, no how. Words to live by. Literally. I never touch a firearm without a little thought of risk. Mostly I think of proper...

Re: DPS Affidavit: Poncho Nevarez Dropped his Cocaine
I don't intend to sympathize much with criminals breaking righteous laws, but I have to wonder - how many citizens suffered punishment under laws Nevarez helped pass? It seems like there might thousands of counts of hypocrisy. I can't say I'm either angry or much surprised, but I am thoroughly disgu...

Re: Walmart has fallen!
Originally, I felt that banning open carry was more a dress code thing than a freedom thing. However, everything that goes along with any civil rights restrictions is awful. I'm starting to get grumpy about 30.07, even though I don't open carry. Dropping ammo sales because "reasons" is spi...

Re: Man trespassed for life from ALL Walmarts for OCing a holstered handgun
What should remain obvious to the world is what's plain to see from the perspective of the lawfully armed citizen. Given the necessity of mixing with a crowd of strangers in a dark alley, would it be safer to be in the company of 20 folks lawfully carrying, or 20 randomly chosen from the majority of...

Re: Texas WR arrested in Austin for carrying loaded Glock 19 , unlicensed.
He shouldn't have been carrying unlawfully, although a level headed 19 year old (who could be carrying an M16 for his country) with a Glock does not automatically hit any buttons for me. Anybody taking his Glock out of his waistband to chamber a round while out on the street, that's iffy. Austin mon...

Re: MSM new latest push - cannibalism - not such a bad thing.
I would make a crack about Burger King's new all-vegetable people-burger made from cage free gun-grabbers, but it turns out I have some sense of decency. Unfortunately, my moment of recognizing inner propriety came when I misread a section heading in that original post's linked article. I saw "...

I haven't had time to do much recreational surfing lately, and I'm under a heckuva deadline right now - but I have to chip in. This is a distressing story.
Here's hoping the poster is recovering. I know some people will tough out a copperhead bite, but rattler?

Re: Bonnie and Clyde walk into a BAR...*
Back in the 90's I worked at a company (New Micros) headquartered in the old Eagle Ford schoolhouse, where Bonnie Parker went to school. There had been several suicides in the building, and locals often shot at the structure. I worked into the wee hours many nights. Visibility out the front door was...

Let me be perfectly clear. Anyone behaving that way in my neighborhood- and I mean anyone peacefully and politely advocating the second amendment - will be immediately approached. We know how to deal with his kind. Not five miles from here, a little Bar-B-Que restaurant serves what every single citi...

Re: Not watching the Superbowl
Good one! Truthfully, the game means so little to me, i’m not sure when it is. If I had to guess, i’d say it was this weekend. But Saturday or Sunday?anygunanywhere wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2018 10:43 am What is this NFL and Supper Bowl of which you speak?
Not sure. I don’t watch TV. Got more interesting things to do. I don’t have time for it.
