Re: Rules on Ammo
I like to keep the ammo with me. If my car is burglarized, they only get the gun, no mags or ammo.

Re: Carry Ammo in 30.06 Premises
Keith,
I should have added that I am more concerned about taking a ride as I agree about the statute wording about it being a handgun that is prohibited. Specifically, I run into the problem when making hospital visits. Some here in Ft. Worth are properly posted, others are not.
Thanks,
Ron

Carry Ammo in 30.06 Premises
Does a properly posted 30.06 prevent CHL holder from still carrying ammo? I would prefer not leaving my magazines and ammo with my weapon (in case of theft) when I have to leave it in the car due to a properly posted 30.06 business.
Thanks,
Ron

Re: Exec Protection book recommendations
I took a level 4 security class a couple of months ago (level 4 being a PPO - Personal Protection Officer). The instructor of the class strongly recommended that we read The Gift of Fear by Gavin de Becker. He said it should be read by everyone, but especially anyone in the business of protecting th...

Re: New Opinion of DPS Attorney on CHL under 46.035
The instructor we spoke with yesterday, stated that the DPS attorney specifically stated that the law change did not matter because the statue states that those places are prohibited. They challenged her as to the plain reading of subsection i, but she was insistent. Since the DPS attorney is speaki...

Re: New Opinion of DPS Attorney on CHL under 46.035
"(i) 'Subsections (b)(4), (b)(5), (b)(6), and (c) do not apply if the actor was not given effective notice under Section 30.06." was a 1997 amendement to 1995 addition of 46.035. There was an article about this very subject in the November issue of the TCHA newsletter last year. Obviously...

Re: April 2009 Applications
Called DPS today to follow up with conversation I had Wednesday and was told then that she would add my name to list to ask about since everything has been in for a month. First, as soon as she took my application #, she told me that I was going to be mad at her, as the system crashed and I would ne...
