Re: Protests - the next level?

I am a 68 year old Vietnam ear vet, retired in 2012, 70% disabled. In the video in question (https://www.wnd.com/2020/08/blm-activis ... olidarity/), I do not see an articulable threat of death or serious bodily injury to me. Your mileage will vary. Well, I did say "if it got physical". I...

Re: Protests - the next level?

"In case it turns physical," your pistol is still not a good option. While "production of a weapon" as a threat of deadly force can be legal (TPC 9.04) against mere force, what do you do if the threat fails? If a mob of people crowded around me, screaming and threatening me, sta...

Re: Protests - the next level?

BLM protestors enter a restaurant and begins to taunt and get in the face of a young woman at a restaurant. He wants her to raise her fist and shout Black Lives Matter. She refuses OK, she wasn't hurt, and that's good. And I don't figure anything like this is ever likely to happen in Texas...and th...

Not unexpected Biden picked the pretty woman.
I dunno about pretty, but she is surely the whitest black woman he could have possibly chosen.

Re: Deadly force against blinding lasers

Actually, I've been thinking, if I ever want to own a high powered laser, I better buy one now, since when things settle down, they're bound to be outlawed. Keeping ahead of the Democrats outlawing things has cost me a lot of money over the years, between assault rifles, normal capacity mags, and Fr...

Re: Now for something completely different

This is the Rothco Chapel in Houston. It is open to the public for free after they finish the $20 million dollar renovation. The late Mark Rothko is a famous modern artist. Many of his paintings are very colorful. He painted these and then committed suicide. He wasn’t in a colorful mood at the time...

Re: Protests - the next level?

One issue to consider. If someone smashed your window and started dragging you out of the car, a self defense case would be pretty easy to make against the person doing the dragging. Stomping the gas to the floor and running down people who were not actually threatening you might get a bit tricky. ...

Re: GA: "Jogger" chased and murdered

By the way, Batman never used a gun. He was antigun.
Batman carried a gun, and used it, and other guns, in 1930 and 1940, in Detective Comics, and in his own title.

Glendora police this week arrested and released a man for allegedly stealing cars and other property three times in the same day
This guy is a terrible criminal. And by that, I mean he is really terrible at being a criminal. He needs to look for less intellectually demanding work.

Re: Texas Government Code 418-173

I dunno about the legality of all this - but I do know that if I owned that restaurant, I would now be offering free meals to all first responders - except firefighters. Ratting out the restaurant was one of the stupidest things I've ever heard of.

Re: Corona Virus (COVID-19) from China: Its going to be bad.

The official name for the virus causing COVID-19 is now SARS-CoV-2. The announcement recognized that the new virus is in the same family that caused the SARS epidemic in 2003 (which also started in China). You can read the announcement at https://www.who.int/emergencies/disease ... -causes-it Heck,...

Mike Bloomberg and Hillary Clinton could not run on the same ticket, as they are from the same State and the Constitution (remember that?) prevents it. Two residents of the same State cannot be elected by the Electors as President and Vice-President. They have both missed the deadline to change res...

Re: Jump with no Parachute

Reminds me of an apocryphal, untrue but amusing story about the Gurkha. The story went that a British officer was detailing a mission to a group of Gurkhas. They were to be air dropped behind enemy lines from 1200 feet, to secure an objective. Surprisingly, there was some muttering in the ranks abou...
