Re: Recommend A Good Cleaning Gun Spray!

I use CRC Electric Contact cleaner for all gun related decreasing work, then CLP as a lubricant. For actual cleaning, as in removing fouling, I use Butch's Bore Shine. I use the electric contact cleaner in place of Gun Scrubber, just because it's cheaper, have used gunscrubber before and it is a go...

Re: TX: SMU PD investigate reported sexual assault

I do not know if law or procedure has changed but 15 years ago, my son had his truck tires stolen on campus, he caught the thieves as they finished and reported it to campus police. They said they would not assign a case # until they investigated. I told him to call the Sheriff's dept. as they have ...

Re: Anti-Gunners Claim Women should allow themselves to be raped....

When testimony was being given before the Senate Committee on State Affairs for SB11 and SB17, Austin's Police Chief Art Acevedo testified that it would be preferable for a woman to submit to rape and then avail herself of the victim services offered by UT and APD rather than defend herself. To hea...

Re: My instructor said....

FWIW. The state only requires the Instructors to teach the class in person and orally, following the syllabus the state has given each instructor with at least a minimum amount of time spent covering each defined section. The state does not tell the Instructors how to say it or how much they can cha...

The computer tends to do what it wants and that is fine with me. I happen to like double space. It allows you to read between the lines. :biggrinjester:

Re: Recommend A Good Cleaning Gun Spray!

I agree with using Gun Scrubber. I do run a snake through the bore also. I have used Gun Scrubber for years, after I first used it, I took a glock and a Ruger 22/45 apart and did a complete clean and found that Gun Scrubber had left very little if any residue behind. I still use separate lubricant, ...

Re: Wife driving and stopped, any reason I should show my CHL

I know this is a Texas forum, but just for completeness, it also depends on state law (if you travel, that's important). For instance, Ohio requires you to show your license whether you are a passenger or driver. If a licensee is the driver or an occupant of a motor vehicle that is stopped as the r...

Your instructor was wrong. It is not a requirement unless asked for ID.

Re: Worst LTC Student?

My class was full of people who'd obviously never loaded of fired a handgun. Why would someone want to gain their license to carry if they weren't into shooting and handling handguns already? I certainly wouldn't have taken my driving test if I hadn't practiced driving. Maybe a range punch card sho...

Re: Worst LTC Student?

I didn't have to borrow a gun during my qual testing, but did have to use my Hi Point .45! Big, heavy, ugly, cheap - but hey, it worked. Place where I took my course would not tell us our shooting score - only "pass" or "fail." They said it was for our own benefit, in th...

Re: Worst LTC Student?

Hi everybody, I am an instructor in the Dallas area, teaching a few years. And I totally agree with having basic pistol instruction before taking my class. And if and when they passed the course, if I'm not comfortable with their skill level, I schedule a 3 hour session (and charge them) before I g...
