The 51% sign is only advisory to a CHL holder. Its presence or lack of presence does not effect the legality of CHL carry. Carrying into a 51% place is illegal whether it is posted or not. A 51% sign doesn't in itself make it illegal to carry into the place.

I get little enjoyment from this news. Its a crying shame that someone is facing a felony, all because he was trying somewhat ineptly to do the right thing. He was declaring the weapon as is required by law. New York's draconian laws should be no reason to rejoice. Meanwhile nothing happens at all t...

Lets face it, most people out there carrying guns are not "gun people" and would be MUCH safer with a good double-action revolver. I don't buy this. If the 4 rules are followed. Any modern gun is safe to carry. Guns aren't dangerous, people are. The SA/NSA distinction in our CHL laws is s...

You need to credit the original source: the munchkin wrangler.: why the gun is civilization , posted Friday, March 23, 2007. Marko's entire blog is an interesting read. I don't mean any offense, but I am more inclined to believe that a Marine Major is the original source rather thanthis munchkin gu...

Ok, I ask forgiveness for my silly post there...But ya gotta admit that was purty funny there! Butt seriously...I believe its really getting sad that scumbags play on the genuine, compassionate people who see things like this and really desire to help out, and then this happens... Now we wonder why...

Chambered for me. If I have to shoot I don't want to have to think. I just want to point and shoot. I understand this reasoning, although this same reasoning can be used to not select a gun with a safety. I like having a real safety. What it means is that I practice clicking my safety off whenever ...

Certainly, there's more to the story than what's stated in the article. An armed robber enters a store with a shotgun and the clerk twarts the robbery and kills the robber... and they want to press charges. There's got to be more to this. I am hoping this will be nothing more than forwarding it to ...

It looks like it is going to work out for you. I think you did the right thing by attempting to prevent another drunk driver from being on the road. Sometimes no good deed can go unpunished. Best of luck to you!

I do agree with the conensus of the posters here, that its probably wise not to to say to much to the police until you have a lawyer present. Like everything else though there are always exceptions. Like there is another bad guy involved and hanging around, or a witness in the crowd who saw everythi...

I read somewhere from someone I respect that a CHL allows you to have some of the illegal weapons. The same section of the penal code that makes an exemption to carry a concealed gun, also exempts us from from the illegal weapons. A literal reading of the Code does imply that. But others argue that...

The Good: there were plenty of witnesses
the Bad: There were lots of potential victims around others could have easily got hurt.
The Ugly : This didn't need to have happened. Either one could have avoided this.

Nope, not according to the Texas Penal Code, anyway.. a knife with a blade over 5½ inches is illegal. Neither of those two knifes has a double edge, although I do have a folding dagger that does. PC 46.01(6) "Illegal knife" means a: (A) knife with a blade over five and one-half inches; (...

Re: Anyone live in Granbury?
