Re: I think the forum is dying

Alien Gear Cloak Dock Is it Stand Alone? I screwed it into my center console. Found a paddle holster in my "tub of holsters". Checked the fit on the gun. Put the holster in the pickup. Alien Gear has paddle holsters that may fit the Cloak Dock better. I was unsure how it would hold up wit...

Re: Am I A Nerd?

I've never really cared. In high school we had hippies, goat ropers, dopers and smart kids. I didn't fit in any clique but associated with all of them - but I didn't smoke their dope. I was one of the smarter kids. I wore what mom and dad could afford. It's been easy for me to care even less. Now I...

... The very best (and just about the only good) part of growing old is caring less and less what other people think of how I look. I've never really cared. Re: Permitless Carry in Texas

Renewing is quick and easy and inexpensive. I certainly think it will be worth it keep licensed to bypass NICs and maintain your reciprocity. Also, I don't know how the permitless carry legislation is written, but my thoughts are that a permitless carrier in the state of Texas should be able to go a...

Re: HB 1927 on the Senate floor now

Some gun owner/shooter (dem) was questioning why Qualification Shooting is gone too. The guy was pushing me hard to admit that unlicensed carry is not a wise idea. I countered make the course free, shooting qualification included and very short time to issue the license and I am all for keeping LTC...

Re: HB 1927 on the Senate floor now

I don't love this one. I guess it goes to the definition of "carrying". I have a personal rule that before I touch drink #2 at my house during a party, etc., my gun comes off my side and into a safe. But if someone keeps their safe in the same room they are in while having a few drinks is...

Re: TX: Lt Gov Patrick says not enough Senate votes to pass Con Carry

Bill placed on senate intent calendar 5/4/2021. This is where things get interesting. If your senator has not publicly stated their opinion on this piece of legislation, I would urge you to contact them first thing in the morning to politely inform them of your position as their constituent. https:...

this happened to me as well. I was locked out for a long time. Couldn't change my password, and couldn't contact an admin.

I got back in last week for the first time in a long time.

.50 BMG kaboom

not an endorsement of Kentucky Ballistics youtube channel. He usually just shoots random objects with high caliber firearms for entertainment purposes, but this time he suffered a near-fatal malfunction of his Serbu 50 cal. It serves as a healthy reminder of the risks of using firearms. For those of...

Re: TX: Lt Gov Patrick says not enough Senate votes to pass Con Carry

Will it pass out of committee? It sounds like it should since they basically loaded the committee with supporters of the legislation.

Will it pass the Senate? I'll believe it when I see it. Until then, it's only just a wish list item.

Re: Property taxes

I honestly would be willing to consider a HUGE increase in sales tax in order to eliminate property taxes, or at least freeze property taxes based on the price of purchase. It is totally unfair the way the current property tax and appraisal system works. A family can buy a piece of property and with...
