Re: IN: OC, Being the Designated Criminal, Unfriendly Cops
They both address the issues of Constitutional rights and the rights of a Property owner. If a homeowner can restrict me from entering their property armed (and though I might find it distasteful, it is indeed their right), why couldn't they restrict me from entering with a copy of the Koran? Actua...

Re: What is the Penal Code?
If there's no penalty, why do they even have it in there still? It was a quirk of the 2009 legislative session. As I recall, there was a bill to remove the requirement entirely, but it (and a lot of other good stuff) got tied up when fights over unrelated legislation stalled a number of bills. Gov ...

Re: Good Shoot: CHL shoots robber on gas station video.
I can find no articles about the arrest, just the booking link above, and Jumping Frog's comment on it being a misdemeanor. As noted, under Ohio law carrying a concealed weapon without license (or under a few other exceptions) is a midemeanor unless the weapon is a loaded firearm or the ammunition i...

Re: Reflections on the CHL written test
+12 to everything SeamusTX wrote, especially this: There are too many questions about administrative stuff like how many days your CHL can be suspended for not changing your address in a timely manner. It should be sufficient to say, "You'll get in trouble if you do that." And this: ... if...

Re: MI CHL 1, BG 0 - Talk about a concealed draw!
... Extend the sequence for additional BG's with 1 round each until engaging the last, then continue the exercise in reverse. Repeat as necessary. If you want to really make it exciting, picture doing this with a .380 Kel Tech or a snubby .38 as your EDC.... Which is why my snubs & ke...

Re: Pocket Holster for 2" J-Frame
http://www.frontiernet.net/~akim/pocket.htm It doesn't look like much but it works like a champ. +1 Without question the best pocket holster for a snubby I've ever used. Puts grip exactly where you want it, fabric inner material will not stick to gun, and design perfectly disguises any gun print pa...

Re: Lori Klein, AZ State Senator, Pointed Loaded Gun At Repo
What a dilemma. Did a politician do something dumb? Or did a journalist slant his story to make the pol look like an idiot?
Glenn Reynolds was right. Politicians should make that when interviewed, they WHOLE interview is video recorded with their own equipment.

Re: Prince.... WHAT? AWESOME.
He is generally not my cup of tea, altho I do find some of his songs catchy. He is definitely a showman and knows how to attract attention, but since AFAIK he has managed to do this without flaunting massive drug or alcohol abuse, felonies, or messing with little kids, he's OK by me.

.... Right now, this story says the following: .... I don't remember the exact words earlier, but it was something equivalent to "full of weapons." - Jim Yeah, I just refreshed the story and noticed it had an "update" at 11:41. It actually should have said a "complete re-wr...

Re: Austin: Wonder what he was arrested for?
... I have noticed that between the information police provide to the media and what gets printed or reported on TV, any involvement of a "civilian" with weapons becomes suspicious, even if no illegal act was committed with a weapon. - Jim Yes. If it was his home, the word "arsenal&q...

Re: For those who have declared firearms at the airport...
I have flown my gun numerous times. Most times I was told to put the declaration card inside the handgun case. But quite a few times I was told to put it on top of the handgun case. Most times the card was orange. Some times the card was white. I did whatever I was told with what I was given, and it...
