Re: SB 16 - priority bill, reduction of LTC fees
It looks like it was amended by the House today, so it will have to go back to the Senate - http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/BillLookup/Actions.aspx?LegSess=85R&Bill=SB16 According to another thread on this board, the amendment reduces the cost even further, to $15 - http://www.capitol.state.tx.us...

Re: Another Meme Thread
Is that an actual gun case? If so, does anyone know where I could get one? My collection of pistols has outgrown my current case.Flightmare wrote:

Re: Reciprocity and signage if 375/1911 passes???
According to the press release for HB1911, a new sign called 30.08 would be created to prevent carry by unlicensed persons. This sign would apply to unlicensed open carry and concealed carry, but would not apply to persons with an LTC. The law would not change 30.06 and 30.07; those would remain in ...

Re: Bills to fix the private entity leasing a government building loophole
Are there any bills filed, or in the plans of being filed, that will prohibit this terrible loophole of a private entity leasing a building that is paid for by our tax dollars, and therefor being allowed by the recent AG rulings to post enforceable 30.06/30.07 signage? I am all for private property...

Re: Canton First Monday
I was there last year, and there were no 30.06 or 30.07 signs. Several of the vendors were selling gun gear, but I was disappointed that I didn't see anyone open carrying.

I called my Representative (Leach) yesterday and left a message. I also called Strauss and left a message asking him to put his full weight behind this bill.

Re: HB 560 - Holy Grail?
That bill is incredibly broad and does a lot more than just reduce the number of places that are off-limits. Several of the changes seem to remove the exemptions currently in place for judges and judicial offices. Other changes do away with the monitoring of receipts by bars and require the TABC to ...

Re: SB271 - No more talk of "taking a ride"
I like this bill. I was stopped several months ago because one of my headlights was out. The officer asked me a lot of questions which I politely declined to answer. He repeatedly threatened to arrest me and take me downtown over the headlight but offered to let me go as a courtesy if I waived my ri...

Re: Continued defiance to 30.06 Ruling Letters
We need to use Nevada as an example. The only odd limits places are those designated by federal law. The gun buster sign has no legal standing. If a business doesn't want you to carry, they have to personally approach you and tell you. But they have to know you are carrying first. :iagree: To me, t...

I was there a few years back, and there were no signs. The building is owned by the city of Richardson, so even if it is posted, the signs would be unenforceable.

Re: SB 16 - priority bill, reduction of LTC fees
If you eliminate the fee then tax dollars from other programs have to pay for the processing of the LTC. I am not going to argue whether LTC should be eliminated but the person applying for one should be at a minimum paying for it. I understand your point, but we are dealing with a constitutional r...

Re: 2017 Legislative Priorities
We need to cleanup and strengthen the prohibition against local governments posting unlawful 30.06 and 30.07. Too many cities are skirting the law by pointing the finger at private entities and then claiming exemption under the AG opinion. The law needs to be explicit that any government- or publicl...

Re: 2017 Tex. Leg. Session forum is open
I'd like 30.06 and 30.07 signs carry the same force of law that 'no shirt, no shoes, no service' signs do - which is none. I feel the business owner should have full right to expel anyone he/she wants from the business, for any valid reason, but the sign alone shouldn't have criminal force behind i...

Re: Single stack 9mm help please!!
+1 for the P938. It's pretty much the smallest 9mm you can get, but it's still accurate and comfortable to shoot. I had a Kahr PM9 for awhile but never really liked it. I traded it out for a P938, and I've never looked back.
