Re: TABC App for iPhone

Just uninstalled the Android app. Installed it 24 hours ago, did a single search. Since then, it's been responsible for 15℅ of the battery draw on my phone. Similar - I ran a single search a couple hours ago and went back to my other apps, meaning TABC is running in the background. Usually not a bi...

Re: T.G.I.Fridays signage in Plano...

Be sure to take a close look at the 30.06 signs. Every time I've been to a TGI Friday's, they had both 30.06 and 30.07, but the 30.06 sign had the old language. If they don't have the up-to-date version of the 30.06 sign, then it's invalid, and you can carry away. Whether or not you still want to gi...

Re: 30.06 at Main Event in Frisco

If I remember correctly, the bar area inside Main Event has a red 51% sign. Since the "premises" of the bar includes the entire venue (i.e. you can order at the bar and take your drink back to your lane), then I believe the entire venue is off-limits by statue. That means the whole discuss...

Own it, love it. Great pocket pistol or BUG. I've put several hundred rounds (FMJ and JHP) through it with no issues whatsoever. My younger brother also has one and loves his.

TABC Blue Sign At Walk-In Clinic

I was feeling under the weather yesterday, so I decided to go to a walk-in clinic here in Plano. As I walked up to the door, I noticed that they had a valid 30.07 sign in the window and also the blue TABC sign ("The unlicensed possession of a weapon..."). Obviously, the clinic does not ser...

Re: Randolph Brooks Removing 30.07?

The Plano branch (at DNT and PGBT) used to be posted 30.07, but the sign is no longer there. Another win for the good guys!

ETA: I drove by the Frisco/Preston Rd. branch on the way to church this morning. Their sign has been removed as well.

Re: Campus Carry vs. college sporting event

What about at stadiums that are owned by the city such as the Cotton Bowl in Dallas? When OU plays Texas there this fall, concealed carry will be allowed unless the stadium is posted 30.06. But it can't be posted because it's city-owned, right? So we should be good to carry there.

Re: Armor Of Light

Thanks for all the responses; I have no doubt that self-defense and the Christian faith are compatible. I'm still curious if anyone has seen the film I referenced? I'd like to be able to intelligently discuss the film with my friends, but I'm afraid watching the film would only enrage me.

Armor Of Light

Not sure if this is the right place for this topic - mods, please feel free to move it... Has anyone here seen the documentary "Armor of Light"? Some Christian friends of ours mentioned that they watched it, and it really challenged their view on guns. I haven't watched it, but I've read a...

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?

Dowell Middle School in McKinney has 30.06 and 30.07 signs posted at the main entrance to the building. I'm not sure if the signs violate SB 273 or not. I don't see any point in reporting them to the DA since they're not hurting anything; the school is already off-limits by statute.

Re: Frisco City Hall

Unless they have county offices there also, you can't register a vehicle with the city. Has to go through Collin County Tax Office http://www.collincountytx.gov/tax_assessor/vehicles/Pages/vehicles.aspx That's the same page I was looking at, so I guess I interpreted it differently than you. I'm loo...

Frisco City Hall

Does anyone know if City Hall in Frisco is off-limits for carrying? I need to go up there and register a car I recently purchased. I've never been to City Hall, so I don't know who occupies that building and whether any of those occupants meet the definition of a "government court or offices ut...

Sr. Java Engineer In Plano

I'm a Sr. Software Engineer with experience in Java and Android. I'm unhappy with my current employer, so I'm considering looking for a new job in the Plano/Frisco/McKinney area. I know there are plenty of companies and openings around here, but I'm curious if anyone has personal experience with com...

PM sent.
I would also be interested in knowing. I may be looking for a new insurance agent soon.

Re: Randolph Brooks Removing 30.07?

I was at the Frisco location Saturday to close on an auto loan. Unfortunately, they still have a very prominent 30.07 in the front window. Since I was OC'ing, I had to leave my primary sidearm in the car. Thankfully, I had my BUG with me, and it was concealed. ;-) (Before anyone says I should've jus...
