Re: Is The CHL Proficiency Test Sufficient?

Apparently, you and those that passed have sufficient skill. They aren't wanting to make sure we are marksmen. The intent is to determine if we can handle the gun in a safe manner and shoot we enough to hit a human size target at close range. The driving test does the same thing. I have difficulty ...

It would be interesting to test the constitutionality of it.

Re: Is The CHL Proficiency Test Sufficient?

I think Charles summed things up very nicely. I would like to respond to this on a personal, not legislative, basis. This is my personal definition of CHL proficiency. 1. Safety. I started shooting under my father's tutelage 57 years ago. He taught me diligently and forcefully about handling, loadi...

Re: Carry Past Invalid Sign or Not?

I hope I don't get too much grief over this. It's just my opinion so don't get excited. To me if someone post a no guns sign regardless of it being the proper 30.06 or soon to be 30.07 (optimistic) it's the same as them saying it verbally. At that point you are infringing on their rights if you ign...

Re: Is The CHL Proficiency Test Sufficient?

Gun ranges..public and plenty of other people around. Having seen the many shenanigans at public ranges I can point to many people who should not be allowed anywhere near a firearm, or heavy machinery for that matter. :eek6 :leaving Legally I'm fine with the standard as it is. Its ridiculously easy...

I would treat those as people who don't want my money. I take people at their word.

Re: Odessa, Texas: 4th grader suspended for magic ring

Sounds like the kid is already a handful. You know before we put this Ring of Power thing down, did anyone notice any hooded riders loitering about? Yeah, a real juvenile delinquent this one. Not only did he bring a magic ring to school, but he {{{shiver}}} brought an unauthorized book and {{{gasp}...

Re: Ted Cruz not voting?

Looks like Ted is back to voting. He and Cornyn voted on a couple dozen resolutions, amendments and even a bill or two. Amazingly, he and Cornyn voted alike on all but two issues. I think that's a first! One has to wonder, is he working with Cornyn now because he needs his support in the presidenti...

Re: Is the cat out of the bag on 30.06?

Interestingly, I've only ever seen one 30.06 sign. I've seen plenty of 51% and the one about no UNlicensed carry, but only one 30.06 sign that I can recollect.
