Re: Vietnam Vets

.... I'm curious as to what the NCOs and officers you served with who had been in combat had to say about it, specifically, taking a life. In a general sense, were they in agreement with what the man in that article said, or were they of a different opinion? I, being a mechanic, have never been in ...

Vietnam Vets

An opinion piece by a retired Vietnam Vet in today's San Antonio Express New. I came into the Army soon after Nam, never served in combat but had many NCOs who did. And served with officers who had. I'd like your opinions on this. http://www.mysanantonio.com/opinion/commentary/article/Arming-teacher...

Re: Enforcement of 'Straw Purchase'

I don't care if they drove to the store separately or together. If the policy is one person, one firearm then if a family of five comes it, it's five firearms. Even if they paid together the policy is not one per purchase.

Re: The problem with guns is the government

They said they found a "Tommy Gun" but despite looking long and hard at the picture I couldn't find one anywhere. Jim, I believe the one that's being held is a Tommy Gun. Sure looks like it. :iagree: it just doesn't have the magazine attached. Single action no doubt. You mean semi-automat...

Great! Now I've got to go find 13,000 cat videos to post links to. Course, that's probably about .1% of the cat videos on the web so it won't be hard.

How to tick off a gun show dealer

Well, not a firearms dealer. One of those everything else in the world, especially things you never knew you needed and really don't. Last gun show (literally) in Live Oak, TX. (I'd forgotten about this until another post jogged my memory.) Walking around the end of the row and I spot a badge in a c...

Re: Jan 15 - San Antonio Homeowner Shoots 2 Burglars

I know we are not aware of all the details, but from what I learned in my CHL class, shooting the BG as he was trying to get away may put the victim in a potential hard spot "Pemberton then fired at the second man twice as he tried to get away in a Dodge Neon. The man, 37, drove a short distan...

You too can be a firearms examiner!

I was googling for some info on the rolling block action and came across this site.

http://www.nij.gov/training/firearms-tr ... ir_m01.htm

National Institute of Justice, Firearms Examiner training course.

I thought it was interesting.

Teachers and CHL: SA Express News Edition

http://mobile.mysa.com/mysa/db_283105/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=69WZUPqM Mostly neutral I think, except for some comments like: Across town, before heading to the shooting range Saturday with the class that included 26 teachers, Felker said permitting educators to pack heat would deter potentia...

Re: Bloomberg: Blame the iPhone

Obviously he was misquoted. It would be the fault of iPhone owners allowing them to get into the hands of criminals.

And they probably all have high capacity memory cards too.

Re: range 'tool' bag

I usually just have a multi tool and a knife on me. Has pretty much taken care of most issues I've personally had, but Honestly I've had to fix some issues for other shooters that required a rubber mallet (stuck slides, etc) and cleaning rods (one guy managed to chamber a 9mm backwards). Oh come on...

Andy, really! Do you really think it's fair to get into a battle of wits with unarmed commentators?

Re: Cheaper Than Dirt! suspends firearms sales

I don't know if this has been true since CTD started their policy review but I just looked up a firearm and it says:

CheaperThanDirt.com does not sell firearms.

Re: Only one card to carry? HB 158

I believe the SSN is required by states to validate information against federal databases, not to be used as a license number. Several years back I got a notice that I would have to come in to a branch to renew my (TX) license because of invalid data. When I did I found that they had originally fumb...

I'm thinking that if campus carry does ever pass, they might really, really want to be sure their notification system works.
