Re: Concealed Carry Reciprocity is on the Move: Your Lawmakers Need to Hear from You NOW!
Question: How would HR38 be enforced? NY, NJ, MD, and several other non-gun friendly states have been ignoring FOPA since its inception. What's to stop these anti-gun states from simply arresting out of staters on state gun violations? Is there anything in HR38 that would provide a penalty for state...

Re: NRA Against Bump Fire Stocks?
If the atf has already examined bump stocks and found them to be legal (twice), what's the harm in letting them do a 3rd review? The worst thing that could happen is that bump stocks are reclassified. They're stupid gimmicks anyway. So if the NRA can gain some advantage on suppressors & national...

Usually 7 1/2 is the cut-off. Maybe there's something particular about that range that has them wanting only the lighter end of the spectrum.

Re: Houston Skeetogether
They do have lights on the fields. If an evening time would work that might open up some days of the week for folks other than a weekend. Traffic would be a limiting factor for weekday evening shoots. Not to mention the potential of having to leave guns & ammo in the car all day while at work (...

It'd be a haul for me as well, but I'd be interested as long as we can avoid the 4th Saturday. That's the monthly IDPA match at PSC.

Re: Houston south quadrant breakfast
Sounds like y'all have already made up your minds to postpone. But just in case you're still considering Friday, I drove BW8 from 288 to 45 yesterday afternoon & most of the feeders & streets heading into Pearland we're still flooded deep. There were even stalled/abandoned cars at Pearland p...

According to the jail that he is in, the charge is PC 46.02 (c)/ Unlawful carrying weapon on alcohol premises. Third degree felony. Thank you for the post. I will be very interested in the outcome of this case. If he has a LTC, they will no doubt amend that to 46.035b-1...which is still a felony. I...

Re: Frivolous lawsuits are often very expensive
Consider that you are looking at some discovery cost, travel expenses, research, filing fees, ect. A summary judgment motion was denied IIRC. I think we just saw the first test run of anti-gunners efforts to use the courts to hurt the firearms industry. Here's what I think their plan actually is: 1...

Re: Wait 'til Next Year
There's actually some validity to this thread. If your right-leaning Rep or Sen didn't do right by you, now is the time to start looking at the primaries. Start talking with the local party chair about plans for the next election - will they consider fielding a candidate to challenge the incumbent? ...

Re: Cracker Barrel bans guns?
I've conceal carried in Cracker Barrels on several occasions. Other than having to mind your sitting position (they have the old straight back chairs with the slats that can sometimes hook the grip of your pistol), I've never had any problems nor seen any signs. The food is ok. East and south of Hou...

Re: HB421 Reported Favorably as Substituted
So, when it says that you cannot give the appearance of a "personal protection officer", don't most body guards wear dark colored suits with ties? Because, guess what I wear to church each Sunday... I think that in this case it could be said that the PPO is trying to give the appearance o...

Re: Time for a Shield!
I don't need one but at that price I may buy one to show ladies in my classes. I'm quite fond of my Shield, but just be aware that its strong recoil spring may not be received well by inexperienced female shooters, given the common difficulty with slide racking. At first the spring is pretty stiff....

I'm thinking that the with the price drops & rebates, the Shield will be upgraded soon. Akin to the M&P 2.0.AndyC wrote:Very attractive pricing - the price-drops AND the rebate. Now, not to look a gift horse in the mouth but... I'd like to know why.
